Due to a bad situation the New York Jets have at quarterback, fantasy football owners should get strong value this week from running back Bilal Powell.

When it comes to the New York Jets, they have a new face at quarterback and well, Bryce Petty has been mostly a backup his entire career for a reason. Yes, he does have decent arm strength but lacks a lot of the fundamentals to be a quality starting quarterback in the NFL. Besides his inaccuracy, he has to continue honing his craft to do better when timing his passes and hitting receiving targets in stride.

Due to this heading into a Week 16 home game against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Jets might want to focus more on their ground game to get the job done. That’s right fantasy football owners, this bodes well for those of you that own running back Bilal Powell since he should be an X-factor against the Chargers. He should have a big game against their defense to hopefully give the Jets a shot at winning their final home game of the season.

In the grand scheme of things, Powell is worth starting as either an RB2 or at the very least, a FLEX option in this, the biggest week of the fantasy football season. If you’re lucky to have made it this far to championship week, congrats, as not for nothing, Powell should bring you at least a touchdown or two this week.

Start Powell this week since he will once again get the majority of reps at running back due to the lingering knee injury to Matt Forte and the fact that rookie Elijah McGuire has been dealing with an illness all week long in practice.

Since Petty will more than likely not be trusted to get the job done this week through the air, easily means Powell should be in a position to have a big game. The Jets need to at least win this one for not only pride but for all the loyal fans who will be in attendance to see the last home game of the year on Christmas Eve. Who wouldn’t love the Christmas gift of victory?

Powell will undoubtedly be worth it and hopefully, also give fantasy owners that started him this week a taste of big victory as well. Good luck to those that made it this week and here’s to hoping it’s because of Powell that makes you win it all in your league.
