Heading into Week 16 fantasy football, it’s best to sit wide receiver Jermaine Kearse of the New York Jets due to who is his starting quarterback.

Unfortunately for the New York Jets, their offense continues to regress and although can show signs of being able to keep those chains moving, they’re not consistent at all. With a new quarterback under center in Bryce Petty, he didn’t have much of a great debut in his first start of the season. Due to this, the fantasy football value of many of the Jets receiving options will unfortunately drop. Especially wide receiver Jermaine Kearse who had one of his worse games of the season last week.

Fantasy owners who are debating whether or not to start Kearse shouldn’t put too much thought into it since they’re entering an unfavorable matchup. The Jets have their final home game of the season on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers and well, will more than likely have their offense once again not click on all cylinders.

It’s best to sit Kearse this week since last week with Petty under center, he didn’t do much of anything. Against the New Orleans Saints, Kearse totaled 28 receiving yards on three receptions and once again, failed to score a touchdown.

As a matter of fact, Kearse has now gone three straight weeks without scoring a touchdown. It’s best to sit Kearse this week and not even think twice about it. Look for any other viable fantasy football option that is entering a favorable matchup.

The Jets offensive line continues to be a weakness for the offense to keep those chains moving and even though Petty had some bright spots last week, he still has a long way to go before being a decent starting quarterback. He has issues with accuracy which will undoubtedly limit Kearse’s ability to make plays.

Overall, sit Kearse and don’t risk anything during championship week. It’s not the time to risk anything due to having your entire season on the line in Week 16.
