Heading into Week 15 fantasy football, wide receiver Jermaine Kearse of the New York Jets is a safe-sit against the New Orleans Saints.

If you’ve been following the New York Jets this season, many see them as an overachieving group due to their young roster, but inconsistency has unfortunately defined them. One week they’ll look like a competitive football team that can go toe-to-toe with anyone in front of them but could easily, at the drop of a coin, change to a team that can’t get anything right. Not only does this affect them tremendously in real life to win football games but also when it comes to the fantasy football value of a lot of their offensive players. Should owners think about starting wide receiver Jermaine Kearse in Week 15 action against the New Orleans Saints?

Due to this being fantasy playoff time, it’s simply not the time to take any huge risks or start anyone on teams that have the potential to struggle. Such is the case with Kearse and the fact that the Jets offense is just one big mess.

Even more so due to the fact that quarterback Josh McCown is out for the season due to a broken hand injury. The Jets now turn to quarterback Bryce Petty who has had just a few practices to hammer out any kinks or issues with the first-team offense this week.

Keep in mind that last week, in the limited time he played due to subbing in for McCown, Petty only completed 2/9 passes for just 14 yards. This will undoubtedly hinder the fantasy football value of Kearse who has fizzled out over the past few weeks from his monster games against the Carolina Panthers and Kansas City Chiefs, respectively.

START OR SIT?: Fantasy Pros Start or Sit Assistant Tool

Sit Kearse this week since it’s never a good idea to start a player who not only is on an inconsistent offense but changing starting quarterbacks. Expect to see a lot of miscues, dropped passes, and well, a disaster of a game for Petty, the Jets, and Kearse. Bench him and don’t even think twice about it this week.
