Heading into Week 12 fantasy football, tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins of the New York Jets is undoubtedly worth starting against the Carolina Panthers.

Oh yes ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in what seems like forever, the New York Jets have a viable tight end that has scored touchdowns and even come through in the clutch this season. Tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins continues to make a name for himself and does a lot of the behind-the-scenes work on offense, especially when it comes to blocking. Should fantasy football owners consider starting him this week against the Carolina Panthers?

In the grand scheme of things, Seferian-Jenkins is worth starting this week since he’s emerged as one of the top receiving options on the team. Despite going three weeks without scoring a touchdown, he has been known to haul in a big reception or convert a key third down as he’s due for a big game.

Fantasy football owners should consider Seferian-Jenkins a safe start as a TE1 since believe it or not, he’s one of the top tight ends playing today. Imagine how much better he’d be with a better quarterback or even with an offensive coordinator that would incorporate him more on offense?

Either way, Seferian-Jenkins is a player on the rise and his fantasy football value continues to improve as well. Considering that the Jets are in a situation where they can’t afford to lose more football games to keep their playoff hopes alive, means that they will more than likely put their best players in a position to succeed.

Expect to see Seferian-Jenkins get a lot of passes coming his way and hopefully, it’ll mean a surprise victory over a strong Panthers team at home in MetLife Stadium. It won’t be easy but if the Jets can get their ground game going and use Seferian-Jenkins a bit more than they have been so far this season, they could very well leave this game victorious.
