Heading into Week 9 fantasy football, tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins of the New York Jets is entering a highly favorable matchup against the Buffalo Bills as he’s worth starting.

It’s rare that a player on offense of the New York Jets is considered a “must start” in fantasy football but such is the case this week. That’s right fantasy football owners, if you own tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins, make sure to start him as a TE1 this week.

So far this season, the defense of the Buffalo Bills hasn’t had any consistency when it comes to covering tight ends, which bodes well for fantasy owners that have him on their team. Considering that the Jets dropped the ball last week against the Atlanta Falcons and failed to use Seferian-Jenkins to his potential, means things should undoubtedly change this week.

The offensive playcalling over the past few weeks by coordinator John Morton has been terrible, to say the least. The Jets start off hot and aggressive but then fizzle out and have too many predictable plays called towards the end which has been a big reason why they have lost their past three straight games.

Hopefully, Morton wakes up and uses Seferian-Jenkins heavily this week since this is an opportunity to end the Jets losing streak and put him in a position to be a difference maker. There is no denying his talent but again, he can’t do much of anything if he isn’t involved on offense, especially in the red zone.

Last week against the Falcons, Seferian-Jenkins only totaled 28 receiving yards on five receptions. He didn’t score a touchdown but it wasn’t a knock on him, but rather, the offensive game plan that left much to the imagination.

The Jets did everything wrong on offense and well, should have incorporated him more which could have easily changed the final outcome. Either way, fantasy football owners should expect to see Seferian-Jenkins back in the spotlight this time around as the Jets need a win bad.

He should have a big game and hopefully, be the main catalyst on offense to get the job done and give the Jets a much-needed victory. Start him this week and don’t even think twice about it since the Bills won’t have any answers to limit the damage he’ll cause thanks to everything he brings to the table.
