Heading into Week 8 fantasy football, if you’re looking for a decent FLEX option, give wide receiver Robby Anderson of the New York Jets a start as he should be well worth it.
Wide receiver Robby Anderson finally ended his three-game streak of not scoring a touchdown last week against the Miami Dolphins. In that game, Anderson totaled 35 receiving yards, three receptions, and scored a touchdown. Yes, the New York Jets lost that game to the final score of 31-28 in a contest they should have won. One can only imagine if the outcome would have been different if the Jets used Anderson a bit more but will that change in Week 8 against the Atlanta Falcons. Anderson’s fantasy football value is slowly rising in the grand scheme of things.
Considering that the pass defense of the Falcons leaves much to the imagination, bodes well for quarterback Josh McCown and his receiving corps to do well throughout this matchup. This is a game that has Anderson entering a favorable situation since he’ll be able to use his speed, solid route-running, and abilities to make big plays against the Falcons defense.
Now, Anderson isn’t worth starting as a WR2 and is nowhere near WR1 status but considering all the teams on a BYE week and injuries, makes him a decent FLEX option. Of course, it all comes down to the gameplan but offensive coordinator John Morton has his back against the wall heading into this Week 8 matchup.

Believe it or not, the Jets have lost their last two games in which they should have won. It’s heartbreaking, to say the least, but the Jets have gotten into the habit of starting games out strong but unfortunately, fizzle out when it matters most.
Expect that to change this week and it all comes down to Anderson. As of late, he’s been getting the majority of passes coming his way and could see even more in Week 8 since the Jets have to do whatever it takes to end their two-game losing streak.
START OR SIT?: Fantasy Pros Start or Sit Assistant Tool
Start Anderson as a FLEX option since he should be good for a touchdown or two against the Falcons. There is also that possibility that he could very well have his best game of the season if he’s put in a position to be an x-factor in beating the underachieving Falcons.
