Heading into Week 8 fantasy football, running back Matt Forte of the New York Jets is worth starting against the Atlanta Falcons since he’s going to get a plethora of reps against a defense that isn’t good in run defense.

Week 8 brings the New York Jets back home to face the Atlanta Falcons. Speaking of which, the Falcons have lost their three past games against the other teams in the AFC East. That’s right, the Falcons have lost to the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and New England Patriots. Can the Jets join the club? They sure can if they consistently run the football against a Falcons defense that can’t stop opposing running backs. This bodes well for fantasy football owners that are debating whether to start or sit running back Matt Forte.

The Jets have three running backs that are different but bring a unique dimension to their offense. With Bilal Powell and Elijah McGuire all making their case to earn more playing time, Forte continues to lead the pack when it comes to reps.

Offensive coordinator John Morton tends to favor giving him more reps than Powell and McGuire since as of late, he’s been proving he can make plays when the offense needs it. He still has had a few moments where brings a spark on offense and well, the Jets have lost their past two games and need to do whatever it takes to end their losing streak.

Considering that the Falcons defense has allowed the sixth-most fantasy football points to opposing running backs so far this season, bodes well for Forte to do well against the unit. Fantasy owners would be wise to consider starting Forte this week either as an RB2 option or even in the FLEX spot.

This is a highly favorable matchup and well, Forte is due for having a big game at this point of the season. He has yet to score a touchdown either as a rusher or receiving option so this game has all the makings of Forte putting on a show.

Overall, start Forte this week and enjoy one of the few games this season where he can finally prove he still has what it takes to deliver results. Expect to see Forte get his first touchdown of the season and possibly even more if everything goes according to plan.
