Heading into Week 8 fantasy football, quarterback Josh McCown of the New York Jets should continue his momentum as he’s worth starting against the Atlanta Falcons.
Quarterback Josh McCown and his New York Jets have been quite the surprise so far this season. At this point in time, the Jets are 3-4 and that’s mostly in part thanks to everything McCown brings to the table. Yeah, he’s known for coughing up an interception or two, but he has thrown several touchdowns so far this fantasy football season. Is he worth starting in Week 8 against the Atlanta Falcons?
In the grand scheme of things, if your main quarterback is on a BYE week or injured, McCown is worth starting. Against the lackluster pass defense of the Falcons, he should be able to continue his momentum of big touchdown passes and even a huge play here and there.
McCown is at most a QB2 but for this particular week, he would be a decent start. Last week against the Miami Dolphins, he totaled 209 passing yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. He also ran for a touchdown in a 1st and goal situation.

Keep in mind, McCown is a smart veteran but has yet to have a clean game. The past four weeks he’s thrown at least one pick in every game, even two in Week 6 against the New England Patriots. If it’s one thing to know about McCown is that accuracy is his game.

So far this season, he’s gone 153/221 for a 69.2 percent accuracy. He’s playing some of the best football of his career and considering that the Falcons cough up a lot of passing yards on a weekly basis, makes him worth taking a risk on. Start him in Week 8 as the Jets are just a few pieces away from going back to their winning ways.
