Heading into Week 7 fantasy football, running back Bilal Powell of the New York Jets is worth starting as FLEX option or even an RB2 thanks to a favorable situation against the Miami Dolphins.

As the New York Jets prepare for the Miami Dolphins in a Week 7 AFC East showdown, it’s expected Gang Green will go back to what has worked for them early on this season. That’s right, the Jets will more than likely go back to establishing the run in order to have a better shot at defeating the Dolphins on the road. This bodes well for fantasy football owners that have running back Bilal Powell.

Powell miss last week’s loss to the New England Patriots due to a calf injury. The good news is that this week, Powell has been active and fully participating in team practice as well as in the overall preparation for Sunday’s game plan.

Fantasy football owners would be wise to consider starting Powell this week either as a FLEX option or even as an RB2. The truth of the matter is, he’s fully healthy and ready to go back to doing what he does best.

It’s expected that while the Jets will commit to the run this week against the Dolphins, it’ll be Powell that leads the pack. The depth chart will more than likely be Powell, Matt Forte, and then Elijah McGuire heading into this matchup.

Powell will easily get the majority of reps at running back and also double up his contributions on offense as a receiving option. Remember, it was just a few weeks ago that Powell had a monster game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. In that Week 4 win, Powell totaled 163 rushing yards, 21 rushes, and a touchdown.

While it’s hard to imagine him having another monster game, he’ll be in a position to have a big impact against the Dolphins. Start Powell this week as he will be a difference-maker in Week 7 fantasy football. Expect to see him have a huge game and score at least a touchdown or two.
