Fantasy Football Start or Sit Week 7: QB Josh McCown

Week 7 fantasy football brings quarterback Josh McCown of the New York Jets against the Miami Dolphins. He’s a safe sit in the grand scheme of things.
As the New York Jets prepare to hit the road in their Week 7 matchup against the Miami Dolphins, fantasy football owners would be wise to sit quarterback Josh McCown. He’s now gone three straight games with throwing at least one interception as he’s too much of a risk to trust this week against the Dolphins.
The defense of the Dolphins is very good against the pass as they play hard and will ensure to bring the pressure against McCown to rattle him early and often. McCown has been pressured a lot as of late due to the inconsistencies of the Jets offensive line. This is simply not a good matchup for him this week.
Fantasy football owners would be wise to sit McCown this week since he won’t do much of anything against their tough pass defense. Yeah, McCown will throw a touchdown or two thanks to how well he manages football games but at the end of the day, he’s not effective enough to warrant a starting spot since his usual interception or two negates anything good he brings to the table.

Considering that the Jets are coming off a heartbreaking Week 6 loss to the New England Patriots, they’ll be playing harder to prove they’re not the worst team in all of professional football. The problem is, the Jets will more than likely stick to their ground game to get the job done against the Dolphins.
Don’t expect McCown to have another consecutive game of over 300 passing yards since the secondary of the Patriots allowed him to do some massive damage against it. The secondary of the Dolphins, however, are a much better unit that consistently does well in shutting down top receiving options, regardless of how good they are of the opposing team is.

It’s best to not take the risk and find another viable quarterback worth starting this week that actually has a more favorable matchup. Don’t expect McCown to be a sleeper pick due to him and his Jets being underdogs to even win this Week 7 game against the Dolphins.
