Fantasy Football Start or Sit Week 5: RB Elijah McGuire

Running back Elijah McGuire made a big name for himself in Week 4 and will continue his momentum this time around against the Cleveland Browns. He’s worth starting in Week 5 fantasy football.
All throughout the offseason and even in preseason action, rookie running back Elijah McGuire was slowly but surely getting ready for his big moment with the New York Jets. It’s not easy making the transition to the NFL but so far, McGuire has listened to coaching and executed when his number was called. He had a huge fantasy football game last week and will look to do the same in Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns.
That’s right, the Jets hit the road to face the winless Browns in a game that they can easily run wild up and down the field straight to victory. This game could very well be a trap game for the Jets but make no mistake about it, they saw what happened last week in their win over the Jacksonville Jaguars and why it’s important to stick to running the football.
And run the football they will against the abysmal defense of the Browns. Their defense won’t have any answers for the ground game of the Jets which will be led mostly by running back Bilal Powell and McGuire. Expect to see both running backs get a plethora of reps as the Jets will more than likely continue to go with the hot hand and establish the run early to earn their third straight win of the season.

Last week against the Jaguars, McGuire totaled his best game yet with 93 rushing yards, 10 rushes, and a touchdown. McGuire also doubled up his fantasy points by hauling in two receptions for 38 receiving yards.
If fantasy football owners had to choose between both running backs, Powell is the best option this week. But for those that don’t own him, McGuire makes for the perfect FLEX option this week. He’ll rack up some good yards on the ground and through the air while also being a force to reckon with.
