As the New York Jets prepare for their Week 5 road game against the Cleveland Browns, head coach Todd Bowles talks about consecutive victories.

Who would have thought the New York Jets would be 2-2 heading into their Week 5 matchup against the Cleveland Browns? Not many, to be honest. The Jets have surprised many so far as those that believed this team would go winless are already seeing one that is on the rise.

The Browns, who unfortunately are 0-4 at this point in time, are the perfect team the Jets can make a huge example out of. If they can get a huge win on the road, it could very well be the right momentum to truly make this season something to remember.

Head coach Todd Bowles know that at the end of the day, the Jets, while they’ve played well the past two weeks, still have a lot of work ahead of them. They still commit penalties, make questionable decisions on the field, and unfortunately, just like other teams, injuries are also piling up.

Courtesy of the Media Relations Department of the Jets, here is what Bowles recently said when asked about his message to the team after their two-game winning streak:

On his message to the team after consecutive victories…We have to focus on the little things. We can’t get away with winning a lot of games making those mistakes in the second half, and we have to clean up the little things and keep pushing forward and getting better.

Needless to say, Bowles is 100 percent right. If the Jets can tighten up as a group and work off each other towards success, they can easily turn this into continued victories. It’s hard to say that the Jets are a playoff-contending team but like in anything when it comes to the NFL, stranger things have happened.

It’s great to see Bowles continue to keep his team focused on the task at hand before higher expectations start running wild. It’s all about taking the season one week at a time while keeping expectations real for everyone wearing a Jets uniform. The real test will be just a week from now when they face the Super Bowl defending champion New England Patriots.

For now, the Jets can beat the Browns and set the stage for an epic AFC East showdown against the Patriots to see where they are at when it comes to consistency. Should the Jets obliterate the Browns and stun the Patriots, they will be the talk of the NFL as they continue to get better.
