So far in his rookie season, safety Jamal Adams has been everything the New York Jets can ask for and more.

When the New York Jets selected safety Jamal Adams with their first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, they knew the high-quality player they’d be bringing into the organization. Adams played very well at LSU as to which he totaled 209 tackles, 18.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, and five interceptions.

Needless to say, he was a playmaker then and continues to be even to this very day but at a pro level. So far just three games into the regular season, he’s made his presence felt in the secondary of the Jets. He’s always involved in some way, shape, or form on defense when it comes to making defensive stops, being in a position to break up a pass, or based on Week 3, getting a key sack against the opposition.

Against the Miami Dolphins, Adams was literally all over the place and brought excitement to not only his teammates but fans in attendance for their home opener in MetLife Stadium. Adams ended the game with two tackles and a sack, which got Jets Nation booming with cheers and applause.

More from Jets News

It’s no secret that the Jets are rebuilding their team from the ground up in hopes of putting players like Adams in a position to thrive, grow, and hone their craft with regular season experience. Adams is already thriving thanks to everything he brings to the table and was a key factor in the Jets finally winning their first game of the season.

Adams will only get better over time as he’s already living up to his potential and by the looks of it, is easily someone the Jets can build around for years to come. Like they always say, defense wins championships and considering the secondary of the Jets has always been an issue over the years, Adams is exactly what they needed to have a cornerstone at the position for years to come.

The Jets should undoubtedly be proud they ultimately decided to draft Adams since we will be hearing his name more often as he continues to develop.
