Heading into Week 3 fantasy football, running back Bilal Powell will be worth starting as a FLEX option.

As the New York Jets prepare for a Week 3 AFC East clash against the Miami Dolphins, there is indeed one way for Gang Green to leave this game victorious. If the Jets are to earn their first victory of the season, it’ll be thanks to establishing the run and putting their running backs to work. This bodes well for fantasy football owners that have running back Bilal Powell.

Now, it’s expected the Jets will give most starting reps to running back Matt Forte but that doesn’t necessarily mean they will just stick to him. Powell is a playmaker and deserves much more playing time than he’s currently getting. That’s a huge reason why in Week 3, it’s expected that the Jets will more than likely focus on their ground game with Forte and Powell.

Expect to see Forte lead the charge but Powell should see much more action this time around. Last week against the Oakland Raiders, Powell totaled just 13 rushing yards on six attempts.

More from Jets Fantasy Football

It’s time the Jets unleashed Powell on offense and utilized him better. This is their first game at home in MetLife Stadium of the season and for anyone that’s even willing to endure watching the Jets play at home, one better believe these players will rally and do their best.

The same can be expected out of the game plan being used by the coaching staff to end their current two-game losing streak.

Fantasy football owners would be wise to start Powell this week as a FLEX option. If you have Forte, he would be the better option but make no mistake about it, both running backs will produce some solid fantasy points.

Powell has yet to score a touchdown this season and since the Dolphins aren’t good at all when it comes to stopping the run, this could be the game he finally sees the end zone. Powell is worth starting this week as a FLEX option as his time will finally come to have more of an impact on the Jets offense.
