Week 3 fantasy football brings wide receiver Charone Peake going up against the defense of the Miami Dolphins. He’s a safe sit in the grand scheme of things.

Unfortunately for wide receiver Charone Peake of the New York Jets, he’s still adjusting to life in the NFL. The 7th round pick of the Jets back in the 2016 NFL Draft has yet to play up to his potential as he’s still trying to put everything together towards success. When it comes to his fantasy football value in Week 3, there’s a big reason why’s not worth starting anytime soon.

Peake didn’t do much of anything all preseason long as he failed to stand out in the crowded situation at wide receiver for the Jets. Yes, he made the final cut and has the talent to play at an NFL level but is still grasping the fundamentals of the position. Especially when it comes to proper route running, putting himself in a position to make a play, and of course, giving the coaching staff reasons to give him more opportunities on offense.

Last week against the Oakland Raiders, Peake only totaled one reception for three yards. The Jets offense revolves mostly around wide receiver Jermaine Kearse and their running backs who also double up as receiving options.

More from Jets Fantasy Football

For the most part, Peake is going to get more opportunities down the road but in Week 3 fantasy action, he’s a safe sit. He’s not worth starting in any way, shape, or form since he won’t do much of anything against the Dolphins.

Perhaps as the season progresses, he might move up when it comes to his fantasy football value but at the end of the day, that’s later on and definitely not now. Peake still needs more work to become a better wide receiver and will get his chances down the road as the Jets keep trying to find their identity on offense.

Sit Peake in Week 3 and don’t even second guess it. He’s not a sleeper pick or a player that’s going to come out of nowhere and haul in three touchdowns. Find any other viable player via the waiver wire if you’re desperate for someone with more upside.
