Heading into the first week of fantasy football, it’s best to sit wide receiver ArDarius Stewart of the New York Jets as he prepares to face to the Buffalo Bills.

As the New York Jets prepare for their season opener on the road against the Buffalo Bills, their offense has a long way to go before it’s able to execute on all cylinders. They failed to score many touchdowns during preseason action due to issues with their young and inexperienced wide receiver corps. This is where wide receiver ArDarius Stewart falls under as his fantasy football value isn’t much to speak of in Week 1 action.

Due to the Jets making some last minute additions to their roster literally about a week ago, their depth chart at wide receiver got two new faces. The Jets traded defensive end Sheldon Richardson to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for wide receiver Jermaine Kearse. They also brought back wide receiver Jeremy Kerley as extra insurance since yes, the receiving corps needs a lot of time to develop.

It’s expected that while Stewart should see a few passes come his way against the Bills, it won’t be enough to consider starting him in your fantasy football lineups. He has playmaker written all over him but as a rookie will still need time to hone his craft with quarterback Josh McCown.

The Jets won’t take too many chances and want to put their receivers in a position to succeed. It’s also expected since the defense of the Bills tends to do well against the pass, the Jets will more than likely rely on their trio at running back to establish the run.

Expect to see a heavy dosage of Matt Forte, Bilal Powell, and yes, even rookie Elijah McGuire will all get reps to make things a bit easier for McCown and the passing game.

Overall, Stewart might be worth stashing on your team if he’s still available on the waiver wire but for this week, it’s best to sit him.
