The New York Jets continue to add new faces to their quarterback situation in hopes of finding clarity in the future. They should see what quarterback Dane Evans can do during training camp.
The New York Jets actually signed an underlooked and overachieving quarterback in Dane Evans out of Tulsa. The quarterback situation of the Jets is gaining a highly underlooked athlete in the young man with some pretty big accomplishments for his already solid college career.
One, this is a huge sign for fans concerned that the Jets have not fully covered the quarterback position situation. The signing without a doubt is proof that after doing amazingly well in this year’s draft, and also being in rebuild mode, the Jets are on a quest to solidify at all areas.
Evans brings a great work ethic and has had success in his collegiate career. He has played in a total of 33 games with 30 being starts. 56 percent of his passes were completed for a career total of 8,332 yards, with 52 touchdowns.

In addition to that, he is fourth on his school’s list in the all-time passing yards category, and touchdown passes. He’s a winner and the Jets should take a good hard look at him to see what he brings to the table. Evans also won the 2016 Wuerffel Trophy, while also being named the 2016 Davey O’ Brien National Quarterback award.
It will be hard for him to stand out from the rest but the talent is there. Could he give the Jets a reason to go into the upcoming season with four quarterbacks again? Possibly but with this opportunity, Evans will make the most out of it.
With so many accomplishments to his name, this could be a great pickup for the Jets if everything falls into place. The Jets are making all the best moves to prove this is a time of positive change and serious hope for a season that most fans are pessimistic on.
