Twitter reactions from fans on Marcus Maye draft pick
In Round 2 of the 2017 NFL Draft, the New York Jets have selected safety Marcus Maye out of Florida. We asked fans on Twitter for their initial reactions.
In case you missed it, the New York Jets have officially selected safety Marcus Maye with the No. 39 overall pick. General manager Mike Maccagnan is ensuring that the Jets are able to keep up with the rest of the NFL in that they need a defense capable of doing well against the pass.
Since the league is a pass-happy one, it’s important that the Jets have a consistent defensive secondary ready to keep up with anything coming their way. Last night, the Jets used the No. 6 overall pick on safety Jamal Adams and well, have already bolstered their secondary immensely.
If you’re not on Twitter yet, it’s highly recommended for sports fans since you’re able to interact with fellow Jets fans and even players directly. It’s a great social media network and well, we asked our loyal readers what they thought of the Jets selecting Maye in this year’s draft by voting in our poll below:
Hey #JetsNation! We need your answers via tweet for our next article! What do you think of the #NewYorkJets taking Marcus Maye? Comment!

For the most part, it looks like fans of the Jets already think Maye is a great draft pick thanks to everything he brings to the table. If you haven’t seen his collegiate highlights, check them out here to see what the Jets have just brought into their defense. It looks like he has some excellent speed and has a knack for making good defensive stops. Sure, he only had five interceptions in college but the way he disrupts footballs in the air will be a welcomed sight to see on the Jets defense for years to come.
Here are some of the reactions Jets fans had on Twitter regarding Maye being drafted in Round 2 of this year’s draft:

@TheJetPress Maye is a good player, but with so many other needs doubling up at one position doesn't make much sense to me. What about the offense?
