Cornerback Buster Skrine is helping kids of single moms get back in shape with his foundation.

I met up with the owners of Kore in New York with my quest of the “Revenge Body,” made popular by Khloe Kardashian.  As a mom, it’s easy to feel like a part of you was lost. Whether it’s your insanity or your body, let’s face it, life changes after you have kids.  Now imagine in a blink of an eye your life being twisted upside down and you’re single. That’s why cornerback Buster Skrine of the New York Jets is making strides to help single moms smile more.

That’s where the Kardashian inspired workout of exchanging tears into sweat comes into play. And what a better way to approach this in a positive way that not only YOU but YOUR KIDS benefit as well. That’s where Skrine comes into the picture.

This Jets player has boot camps on Thursdays at 3:00 PM and 5:30 PM and Saturday at 5:00 PM.  Now, you don’t have to be a single mom to join this high-intensity interval, full body workout that includes kettlebells.  Single moms, like myself, need support!  So males, females, parent or nonparent all is welcome to come to give support.  And if you think you’re not in shape or “too big” to come out, it’s all about modifications.   All people, shapes, and sizes are welcome to this encouraging and positive vibe zone.

Co-owner of Kore, Jess Bolbach, explained when she first met with Skrine that their relationship was so organic and that it’s something that you can’t just recreate.  That his style of training is such a fun experience that your mind is taken away of it even feeling like a workout.  It’s great that all types of people can come together and support a cause.

Even Skrine loves the workout and feedback he gets on a daily basis. Here is what he had to say when asked for comment:

“I’m amazed with the growth of the classes over the first 3 weeks. It’s easy for people to just donate online but love how people are taking the time in their day to workout with me to raise money showing their effort and support toward the cause”

On Saturdays, I’ve been walking around the track as I watch my three young boys (and other kids of single parents) train with Skrine.  It’s hard when you have three boys without the support of a solid positive male influence.  For once, exchanging the tears for sweats were harder than imagined.  Skrine’s love and passion for the kids in attendance really hits home.  The happiness in their eyes and excitement of having a positive role model means a lot to them.

I for one am very grateful for everything Skrine does through his foundation to help raise money for kids programs.  For more information about the Skrine Foundation, please click here.
