Broncos reluctant to pay price for Ryan Fitzpatrick, per sources by ESPN (ESPN.com)

"The Broncos have reached out to free agent Ryan Fitzpatrick’s representatives, sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, though Denver currently is unwilling to pay the salary that the quarterback is seeking."

At this point in time, Fitzpatrick is easily running out of options by demanding a big money contract. Most teams have already made their  initial moves in free agency and since Fitzpatrick’s asking price seems too high, he’s running out of time with the Jets. Considering that they are still in the running to land either Robert Griffin III or Colin Kaepernick, Fitzpatrick might find himself out of the Jets’ plans for next season faster than a New York minute.

6 Things We Didn’t Know About Matt Forté by Randy Lange (NewYorkJets.com)

"Details of Forté’s career numbers can be found elsewhere, but one stat we didn’t know was the frequency with which he scored on two-point conversions."

The Jets kicked off the new league year by acquiring one of the top free agents at running back in Matt Forte. It’s a smart move since they now have a more durable and premier threat than Chris Ivory. Forte will bring his unique skill-set to the Jets’ offense as offensive coordinator Chan Gailey no doubt has big plans on how to utilize him nicely next season. His dual-threat abilities are going to surprise many next season for the Jets.

Jets WR Brandon Marshall fears losing Ryan Fitzpatrick to free agency, loves Matt Forte signing by Seth Walder (New York Daily News)

"“The way we communicate, the way we practice together, the way we bring other guys together, I’ve never seen that anywhere else,” Marshall said on the Rich Eisen Show Friday."

It’s no secret that Brandon Marshall developed a great bond and connection with Fitzpatrick last season. It would be unfortunate if Fitzpatrick bolts via free agency but one thing everyone should understand is that at the end of the day, it’s all about business. Fitzpatrick undoubtedly knows his worth based on his amazing season last year but should also remember, money isn’t everything. He’s in a great situation with great teammates in the city that never sleeps and should remember that as he makes his final decisions on where to play next season.

"Jermaine Gresham is a free agent for the second straight season, but the veteran tight end is already meeting with teams this week."

More jets: In Maccagnan we trust

The Jets need a new tight end to complete their offense next season. They wisely released tight end Jeff Cumberland since his tenure with the Jets was lackluster and they need a better receiving option at the position. Someone like Jermaine Gresham would be a great pickup for the Jets as he still has what it takes to succeed and would actually be an upgrade at tight end the Jets haven’t had in years.
