How to Get Through the Next Several Weeks Without New York Jets Football

We now hit the roughest time in the NFL off-season. The draft has been over for weeks now. The flurry of free agent signings have come and gone. The UFDAs have found teams, and most of the larger free agents have found teams. Rookie camp has been here, and now OTAs.
As the heat has risen over the New York Tri-State area, and relief not in sight, this really cements the fact that we are entering the “dogged days of Summer”. There isn’t a lot of news to report for the next several weeks. So, how do we make it through? What are some of the ways we can occupy ourselves and keep ourselves out of trouble.
I came up with a few suggestions.
PRAY THAT YOUR OTHER SPORTS’ TEAMS HAVE A GREAT YEAR Sometimes that is far easier said than done. I am a Mets fan, so this one is hard to come by. I am sure a lot of you reading this are Yankee fans, so this one is easy. Baseball doesn’t have a hard time distracting Yankee fans to give them a break from football. It’s us Mets fans that miss football more and more, each time the Mets take the field.
At least the Rangers and Knicks played well.
NFL GAME REWIND If you don’t have this, you should. It gives you the opportunity to scout just the way we do, your favorite bloggers from other sites, and actual scouts use. With this package through www.NFL.com, you have access to all games from last season, including the post-season, via the “All-22” video. What do we mean? You are given the opportunity to see all of the plays, with a view of all twenty-two players on the team.
If you have a tablet, it gives you an opportunity to telestrate, as the broadcasters do. It’s a great fun way to pass the time.
VACATION TIME Remember that movie with Jimmy Fallon, “Fever Pitch”? It was about a crazy Red Sox fan that was the typical guy with his girlfriend during the off-season, but obsessed with team during the season. Sound familiar anyone? I am sure this is the story of a lot of our lives, not just mine.
DON’T FORGET TO KEEP READING Despite the fact that it’s a rough time for all of us, our site has new, fresh content every day of the week. Stop by our site each and every day to get your Jets fix.
In all seriousness, don’t just come by ours. There are many great Jets’ blogs out there, such as our friends at “Turn On the Jets“, “Jet Nation“, “Bleacher Report“, among many others. In order to get your Jets’ fix, don’t limit yourself to only one blog. Each blog for our team brings a little something different to the table. One thing is for sure, you read these sites every day, you will be more than ready for action when the season gets here.
There are some methods to get yourself through the offseason. I hope this helps.
