JETS & BETS… Week 7, LAAAA RAAIIDDDDEERRRSSSS!

facebooktwitterreddit

The Jets are in Oakland today to combat a Raiders team that is traditionally tough at home. Gang Green had a rough time last trip to the west coast, so all bets are off here. The Jets better hope they see the Raider team from last week and not the one that went into Buffalo and almost pulled the upset.

I’m expecting a large dose of the ground game from the Raiders which should keep the game fairly close. It’s curious to me why the Raiders haven’t shown a Wildcat formation like McFadden perfected at Arkansas and Miami is so successful with this year. Either way, the Jets strength this year has been stopping the run and they need to bring the heat once again today. Dare Russell to get it done through the air.

The Raiders defense have had the most trouble against the Broncos & Saints who spread them out. This is what the Jets need to do today. Once again I’ll sound like a broken record saying the Jets will win this game barring unforced errors. If the Jets go toe to toe without turning the ball over, they should win this one. Turnovers look like the only thing that could stop our guys this week, so please Jets, hold on to the ball!!!

This once again is another game the Jets “should” win. At the beginning of the season, these are the games people marked as “winnable”.

This is another chance for the Jets to gain some ground as well. The Bills are knocking heads with the Chargers, while the Pats head to Denver.

Prediction: Leon Washington has looked too close to taking a return to the house and gets one in today. Favre has a better trip out west this go around and the Jets get it done 28-23 in a wild one.

BETS:

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE FOOTBALL GODS FOR GIVING THROWING ME A BONE WITH PENN STATE GETTING THE LATE COVER YESTERDAY TO BRING THE CHEDDAR BANK TO 5 WINNING DAYS IN A ROW!!! LET’S HOPE THE STREAK TRANSLATES TO THE NFL TODAY!!!

40 blocks of Mozz Colts -1

Wow, Peyton Manning finally looked back last week and the Packers are looking soft. The Colts should come into Green Bay and get the win. The Colts didn’t miss a beat with Rhodes taking over for Addai and I’m expecting more of the same today!

15 boxes of Mac n’ Cheese Miami -3

Wacko for Flacco? Not after last week… The Ravens were smashed by the Colts and I’m expecting the Dolphins to roll at home. Miami came within a few seconds of getting the win last week and are bringing up the rear of the AFC East, which I said would be the best or close to the best division in Football by year’s end. I’m sure the AFC South & NFC East would still have something to say about that, but we’ll see.

15 shakes of Parmesan Cleveland +7.5

Cleveland finally pulled a game together on Monday night and they should have another strong effort today. The Redskins came back to earth last week and while I expect them to win, I still think this one is too close to call. Give me more than a TD to work with and I’ll take those odds any day.

Good Luck!
