Week 4: Jets & Bets!

Keys to a Week 4 Win:

Titans Jerseys… Check!

Protect the ball-

Look, it doesn’t matter whether it’s Brett or the WR’s that are off target right now. The only thing that we know is that this team cannot afford to lose the turnover battle. Kris Jenkins should be back in the lineup which means the Jets defense should be able to create some pressure on Kurt Warner. The Jets can win this game if they control the time of possession and win the turnover battle, if not, it will be another ugly week!

Ride the hot hands-

Thomas Jones is averaging over 4 yards per carry & Leon Washington is the perfect compliment with his blazing speed. The offensive line deserves a shot to shoulder the load which will take the pressure off Brett Favre. Brian Schottenheimer needs to be creative in a conservative attack (if that makes sense). Basically, they need to pound the ball using a variety of looks, more misdirection B. Schott!!! If it doesn’t open up right away, it will by the second half!!! The Cardinals have an underrated defense and an offense we don’t want to see on the field often. Jones and Washington are the keys to this game!

Bring back the Screens Man!

The pass protection broke down last week when the Chargers dialed up some pressure. I don’t know how many times in the first half we saw Brett Favre drop back 5-7 steps? That’s not part of the Jets playbook! When Pennington was here, the Jets would use the screen game and flare passes as an extended handoff. Given the fact that DB’s will have to drop to respect Favre’s arm strength, the screens should be there consistently.

Limit the Big Plays-

Nobody in the NFL can stop the combo of Fitzgerald & Boldin! What we can do is make the sure tackle. These two are extremely strong and end up doing most of their damage after the catch. The secondary needs to rely on the pass rush to disrupt the pass. Otherwise, they can’t take any chances. They need to breakdown and wrap up. This will take an entire team effort with everyone flying to the ball to get this one done!

Mother Nature-

Looks like Mother Nature is wreaking havoc this weekend in the Tri-State Area. If it does move into Sunday, the Jets will need to win the battle of field position. Eric Mangini said when he first saw Ben Graham it was in a field while Graham was kicking in the pouring rain! Let’s hope that works in our favor!

The Bottom Line here is that the Jets need to show some urgency. I know they are all talking about how long this season is, but the reality is this is the final game of the first quarter of the season. This is the second home game and one they need to win. They need some confidence going into the bye!!!

JETS BETS!!!

We killed it last week with 30 pieces of Cheddar in profit to erase the first two weeks deficit!!! The Falcons were easy money last week and we are looking to continue that trend this week!!!

35 Crumbles of Feta on the Tennessee Titans -3

On the exterior, this game looks like it should be close, but I’m thinking differently. The Titans own the advantage in all 3 phases of the game, plus they are an extremely tough home team. Tennessee, believe it or not, should be able to run the ball effectively. What the Vikings gained with Jared Allen in pass rush, they lost in run defense. I’m expecting a balanced attack from the Titans which should lead them to the 20+ points range. On the other side of the ball we’re looking at AP vs. the Titans defense. At this point, no one can penetrate this defense. Unfortunately for the Vikings, they will have to rely on Gus Frerotte through the air against one of the most underrated defensive backfields in the league. Not gonna happen! I’m looking at the Titans to win this one 23-14!

25 Wings Dipped in Blue Cheese on Cleveland/Cincinnati over 44.5

You’re right, this game will not end at the century mark like it almost did last season. I do though expect both these offenses to break out of a funk. The Bengals finally showed some signs of life last week against the Giants and the Browns will finally be facing a defense that makes everyone look good. Both these teams should put the rock in the end zone a minimum of 3 times! Add a FG here or there and we got this number with ease! All the people with fantasy players on these two teams will finally get some relief!!! Enjoy!!!

15 Boxes of Mac ‘N Cheese San Francisco +5

This line started @ +8.5 and is now down to 5. While we wish we could have gave you this at the open, we’re still looking for a game that boils down to a field goal at the last few minutes. Both teams should be able to score enough that whoever has the ball last should get this one done. We like the talent that the 49ers have on the defensive side, and the open offense has allowed Frank Gore to wreak havoc! The Niners are in the mindset that they are prepared to win this division and are still being undervalued in Vegas. We’ll jump on them for the second week in a row!
