Fantasy Football Start or Sit Week 15: Ryan Fitzpatrick

When it comes to fantasy football, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick could be poised as a must start option for Week 15.

For some fantasy football owners, such as myself who have been riding the Matt Stafford train since the start of the season, are now looking for a solid replacement. Other owners have had the misfortune of having Andy Dalton on their roster as well as Tony Romo and Colin Kaepernick who have all at some point in the season, suffered season ending injuries.

With fantasy football playoffs beginning this week, the time is now to make sure your lineups are complete as possible. One position in particular that is vitally important to have fulfilled is the quarterback position. In recent weeks, owners have picked up Derek Carr or guys such as Tyrod Taylor off waivers but everyone seems to ignore Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Over the span of his last three games, Fitzpatrick has thrown nine touchdowns, zero interceptions and has posted an eye-opening 78 points. Fitzpatrick has proven to be not only a top ten quarterback for the remainder of the season but a priority add for rosters everywhere fighting for that #1 spot in their leagues.

Let’s not forget Fitzmagic’s staggering stat of zero interceptions in the last three weeks as he is also on the cusp of passing Vinny Testaverde‘s franchise record of 29 passing touchdowns set in 1998. Fitzpatrick is having the best season of his career and it couldn’t have come during a more perfect time. Entering his contract year, Fitz will look to seek a contract from Gang Green possibly mirroring that of Josh McCown‘s from Cleveland.

Before we get to contract talks, the Jets must make it through the final three games of the season, its do or die in the big apple. The Jets realistically, must win out the rest of the season to keep any playoff hopes alive. With Fitzpatrick commanding the Jets’ offense and your fantasy roster, I have complete confidence in his ability to not only help the Jets succeed but help your fantasy team succeed as well.

Currently, the newly re-born quarterback is projected to score 12.56 fantasy points, don’t be discouraged by the low projection,  the Dallas Cowboys’ defense isn’t anything to be intimidated by. Their defense enters Week 15 as the 29th best defense in fantasy football and is projected at four points against the solid offense of the Jets.

The Cowboys’ defense has been awful this season, Fitzpatrick should have no problem torching Big D through the air, attacking their weak secondary. He could potentially have another big game as the Jets try to go for their fourth straight win of the season, something they haven’t done since 1998.

Overall, Fitzpatrick has become clutch for the Jets in the past three weeks, I expect his hot streak to continue into Week 15. My projections for the veteran quarterback are three touchdowns, over 300 yards passing, 30-plus rushing yards and zero interceptions.

Fitzpatrick will be a QB1 this week for fantasy owners everywhere. Make sure you submit a waiver request for Fitzmagic as soon as possible.
