The Making Of Kellen 1-2-3

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

The title of this post was inspired by John Travolta remaking The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3, the classic 1970’s hostage thriller about a hijacked New York City Subway (and quite frankly who of us that has ridden the subway hasn’t dreamed of hijacking it). It also has to do with the nearly sudden ascent of Clemens to the man to lose the job of New York Jets starting quarterback. Yes it’s early but not only has Kellen Clemens looked good so far but it speaks volumes for him that he has been able to come out swinging despite having to [...]

Between A Nick & A Brick

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: None Yet

As the OTAs continue and we Jets fans have visions of Kellen Clemens Pro Bowl season dancing in our heads (fingers crossed) position battles, top secret practices, and coach speak abounds.
USAToday profiled new Jet Alan Faneca in a very nice piece recently. I cannot underscore the impact the Faneca signing will have on this team. I don’t care how much he cost he is worth every penny. 7 time Pro Bowlers never come cheap right in the middle of their prime. The one intangible quality he brings? He’s a winner. If you don’t think that will rub off on Nick [...]

Rock, Paper, Scissor…

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: None Yet

To hear the critics and some fans talk one would think the quarterback position for the New York Jets is the worst in the enitre National Football League. Hardly. The Jets have a young gun who started a whopping 8 games last year at the helm of a 4-12 team with visions of golf courses dancing in their heads by October 1. That is 8 games for his career so far. Then you have injury riddled vet Chad Pennington. All of 31 years old. Maybe, just maybe, getting ready to be the best back-up quarterback in the league. This is [...]

Not Fool’s Gold

What can I say? Either I’m easily impressed, I love potential, or a healthy combination of the two. The New York Jets certainly have not given me much reason to be overly optimisitc over their history or my 25 plus year affiliation with them as a fan. Yet…I have a good feeling this year. I like this time of year for the optimism of the draft and rookie mini camp. It makes all fans feel like anything is possible.
One player to like: CB Dwight Lowery. Yes I like this guy alot. I think he will join the ranks of 4th [...]

Mini Camp Awaits Inspiring Duo

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: None Yet

The New York Jets have been very busy these last few weeks with wrapping up their initial dalliance in free agency, draft evaluations, completing the agonizing Dewayne Robertson trade among others. There is no rest for the weary as General Manager Mike Tannebaum’s motto has been he will leave no stone unturned to find players for this roster if they will make it better. His hard work continued after the 2008 NFL Draft as the Jets signed several very intriguing undrafted free agents including two with very inspirational stories.
The first came right after the draft in the form of a diminuative [...]
