The NY Jets are preparing for a highly-anticipated Monday Night Football matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers tonight. It's a game that will have serious playoff implications for both teams.

A win tonight would leave the Jets just a half-game out of first place in the AFC East and ahead of the Buffalo Bills. It would also allow them to continue climbing the wild-card standings at 5-3.

As for the Chargers, they're looking to fight their way back to .500 after a shaky start to the season. Justin Herbert has the Chargers offense rolling, but their defense is one of the worst in the NFL.

Both the Jets and Chargers are dealing with a few injuries ahead of tonight's game. The Jets placed offensive linemen Connor McGovern and Wes Schweitzer on the injured reserve this past week after both suffered injuries in Week 8.

Linebacker Chazz Surratt is the only player ruled out for the Jets. Wide receiver Allen Lazard (knee) and safety Adrian Amos (ankle) are listed as questionable after popping up on the injury report on Saturday.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported Monday afternoon that Lazard is expected to play tonight despite his injury.

The Chargers placed wide receiver Joshua Palmer on the injured reserve this week, sidelining a key piece in the team's offense for at least four games. A host of players, including linebacker Kenneth Murray and defensive lineman Morgan Fox, are questionable for tonight's contest.
