6. Jeremy Ruckert, TE, NY Jets
Rookie tight end Jeremy Ruckert was sidelined for the spring and much of the summer while dealing with a foot injury, but the 2022 third-round pick is back and in line to receive plenty of snaps Friday night.
Ruckert is looking to establish some sort of a role in the Jets' offense as their defined TE3 and, if he can string together some positive outings, he might just do that. It should be fun to watch the Long Island native in action for the first time this preseason.
5. Zonovan Knight, RB, NY Jets
The Jets only signed a handful of undrafted free agents this year, but perhaps the most intriguing undrafted addition they made was running back Zonovan Knight. Knight has had a relatively quiet summer, although he did make a few plays in the Green & White Scrimmage.
With Breece Hall and Michael Carter likely taking a backseat role (and Ty Johnson still nursing a hamstring injury), Knight should receive ample opportunities to make an impact and perhaps even push for a spot on the 53-man roster.
4. Jabari Zuniga, DE, NY Jets
We could realistically throw any of the Jets' backup pass rushers on this list as they're all fighting for the same thing, but perhaps none of them have more to gain/lose this preseason than Jabari Zuniga.
The former third-round pick has fallen well short of expectations in New York, but he's quietly put together a very strong summer and could sneak his way onto the active roster with a standout preseason. Don't count out Zuniga just yet.
