New York Jets Roster Cuts (Will Be Continuously Updated)

Here is a running list of Jets rumors and roster moves. These will be updated all afternoon and evening. RB Daryl Richardson, LB AJ Edds,WR Stephen Hill, TE Chris Pantale, DL Zach Thompson, RB Alex Green, QB Tajh Boyd, S Rontez Miles, DL Tevita Finau, OL Brent Qvale, CB Dimitri Patterson and CB Johnny Patrick are officially cut, according to the team’s Twitter account (@nyjets). In addition, according to the team’s website the final cuts are QB Matt Simms, WR Clyde Gates, OL Caleb Schlauderaff, DL Kerry Hyder, LB Troy Davis, LB Garrett McIntyre, CB Brandon Dixon and CB Jeremy Reeves. Antwan Barnes has been moved to the PUP list, freeing up a roster spot and having him eligible to return Week 6. The cuts are listed here.

It has been reported that Greg Salas, Dalton Freeman and Ben Ijalana  have made the roster. However, remember that waiver claims are awarded at noon tomorrow and making it today does not guarantee you a spot tomorrow.

A surprise cut off of the bat.

A number of running backs have already been cut from other clubs so the Jets could still be in the market for a 4th running back. Lachey Seastrunk of the Redskins, and Henry Josey of the Eagles who torched the Jets would be decent options.

The Jets cut AJ Edds, who I thought would make the roster for his coverage skill.

Jeremiah George beats out Edds. George had a very good final preseason game and his long-term potential trumps Edds.

Johnny Patrick made no impact and was injured in the final preseason game so his cut here is not a surprise.

According to Dennis Waszak of the Associated Press Greg Salas, Ben Ijalana and Dalton Freeman have unofficially made the roster.

The end of a very disappointing career with the Jets is near because according to Bob Glauber of Newsday, Stephen Hill will be traded or released shortly.

Dion Lewis could be a 4th running back candidate for the Jets.

If #Jets did cut Daryl Richardson, look for them to try and add Dion Lewis, familiar w/ Marty, as @DrewfromJersey pointed out

It looks like it will happen. Hill has played himself off of the roster.

The team has officially released Hill, according to Bob Glauber of Newsday.

As expected Alex Green will be cut, according to Seth Walder of the New York Daily News.

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News Zach Thompson and Chris Pantale have been cut.

Tajh Boyd cut, according to Jake Steinberg (@steiny31). Expect him to be on the practice squad tomorrow.

The Jets confirm a few cuts.

DL Tevita Finau was cut, according to his agent David Canter.

Kristian Dyer reports that Dimitri Patterson will make the roster today. I still wouldn’t expect him to survive waiver wire claims on Sunday.

Very surprising to see Rontez Miles cut today. Hopefully he returns to the practice squad tomorrow. Yes his skill set is similar to Allen, Pryor and Landry but I still think he earned his spot over Bush.

Brent Qvale was cut according to Kimberley Martin of Newsday.

According to Pro Football Talk Dimitri Patterson has been cut ending his tumultuous tenure with the Jets.
