Rookie Geno Smith gets the start Sunday

New York Jets Injuries-

Did not Participate Thursday- WR Santonio Holmes ( foot) QB Mark Sanchez ( shoulder) OLB Quinton Coples ( Ankle)Analysis- It will be seen as a miracle if Coples plays on Sunday, and Sanchez has already been ruled out for at least this week. It was reported that today was just a scheduled day off for Holmes who is on pace to play on Sunday. Having Tone out there is huge or the Jets and Geno Smith since Holmes provides a much-needed weapon to the offense.

Limited Participation in Practice on Thursday- CB Antonio Cromartie ( hip) DE Leger Douzable ( illness) DT Kenrick Ellis ( Back) TE Kellen Winslow ( knee)

Analysis- At this point, the only one who may not play on Sunday is DT Kenrick Ellis. Ellis suffered a back injury after an incident in the weight room. If Ellis cannot play, look for fan favorite Damon Harrison to get the start. Douzable made a name for himself this preseason and will be looking to carve himself a niche on the Jets defensive line along with Muhammad Wilkerson, Damon Harrison, Kenrick Ellis, and Sheldon Richardson. The Jets need to have Pro Bowl corner at 100% since he is a vital part of the defense. Cro needs to be his absolute best to shut down big WR Vincent Jackson. It seems that today was just a rest day for Winslow.

Full Participation in Practice Thursday- LB Nick Bellore ( oblique) T Willie Colon ( knee, shoulder) G Vlad Ducasse ( calf) WR Clyde Gates ( shoulder) LB David Harris ( hip) DT Damon Harrison ( knee) WR Stephen Hill ( knee)T Ben Ijalana ( knee) WR Jeremy Kerley ( finger) CB Ellis Lankster ( foot, hamstring) CB Dee Milliner ( Achilles) QB Matt Simms ( calf, oblique) QB Geno Smith ( ankle) G Brian Winters ( ankle).

Analysis – It is a great sign for the Jets that all of these guys were full participants in practice today.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Injury Report

Did Not Participate in Practice Thursday- TE Tom Crabtree ( ankle) CB Rashaan Melvin ( Hamstring) G Carl Nicks ( foot)

Analysis- The most noteworthy injury of these 3 is easily All Pro guard Carl Nicks. Nicks is vital in the Bucs run and pass protection. All sings point to Nicks not being able to play on Sunday. This is very bad news for Bucs star running back Doug Martin who is looking to have a big second season In the NFL. Jets defensive lineman will no doubt be looking to take advantage of the backup guard. Look for Rex Ryan to dial up some blitzes to try to create havoc on QB Josh Freeman.

Limited Participation in Practice Thursday- RB Mike James ( Eye) FB Erik Lorig ( Calf)Analysis- both are looked at as depth for the Bucs.

Full Participation in practice on Thursday- CB Darrelle Revis ( Knee)Analysis- No player will be watched more on Sunday than #24. Revis Island returns to Metlife in enemy colors. Look for Revis to want to have a huge game against his former squad.
