Former NY Jets wide receiver Elijah Moore is looking forward to a fresh start with the Cleveland Browns in 2023 following his trade last month. The former second-round pick is hoping that life with Deshaun Watson at quarterback will prove more fruitful than the QBs he played with in New York.

Moore isn't the only one looking forward to the new partnership as Watson was asked about the addition of the former Ole Miss wide receiver in a surprise appearance on a Twitter Spaces session with Offseason Chopz.

Watson spoke highly of Moore, but he couldn't help himself from taking a shot at the Jets in the process. The man with nearly two dozen sexual assault allegations against him spoke about how it's important for Moore to be motivated after escaping from a "toxic" situation in New York.

The "toxic" situation Watson is referring to stems from Moore's shock trade request during the Jets' three-game winning streak last season. While the two sides eventually smoothed things over, Moore got his wish as he was traded to the Browns earlier this offseason.

"And, you know, with me having a guy come from, you know, you call it how it is, a toxic situation from New York, I’ve got to make sure that mentally he’s straight, he’s motivated. And that’s what he’s been since he’s walked in the building. He’s motivated, ready to work, asking me questions."

Watson's comments certainly won't go over well with Jets fans, who have little sympathy for Moore after the way he handled the situation last year. Many fans are likely happy the team moved on when they did.

The Jets revamped their wide receiver room this offseason, signing Allen Lazard and Mecole Hardman in free agency. The duo will look to replace the production of Moore and Braxton Berrios, who will be playing for new teams in 2023.

Moore showed plenty of promise as a rookie, but his production dipped significantly in 2022, partially as a result of dismal quarterback play. The Deshaun Watson the Browns saw last season wasn't much better, however.

They say the grass isn't always greener on the other side, and maybe that'll be true for Moore. Either way, both sides are probably happy to have moved on.

The Jets are confident in their receiving corps, and Moore seems to be happy with his new team. Watson's words about toxicity just ring a bit hollow, given...well...you know.
