The NY Jets fan base held its collective breath when it was revealed that Aaron Rodgers exited Tuesday's practice early with an apparent injury.

Rodgers was spotted limping around shortly after warmups and was held out for the remainder of the day. Instead, Rodgers spent the afternoon working alongside offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett while helping coach his teammates.

CBS Sports' Josina Anderson later reported that Rodgers suffered a strained calf in practice and that the injury is reportedly "minor." The Jets expect him to be back on the field "fairly quickly."

Rodgers told reporters after practice that he tweaked his calf in the conditioning period and "decided to take a vet day." He also indicated that he doesn't believe the injury is anything serious.

Rodgers notably remained on the practice field following his injury — a direct indication that the team wasn't concerned about his situation. It's certainly possible that the Jets hold Rodgers out of practice for a few days, but all things considered, he appears to be alright.

You never want to see players suffer any sort of injury, especially when that player is the individual the team's Super Bowl hopes rely on. That said, there's no reason to be concerned about Rodgers' status.

A minor calf strain in May is probably about the least significant injury a player can sustain. Rodgers should be fine before long; the Jets are just playing it safe with their star QB.

With Rodgers sidelined, it was Zach Wilson who took first-team reps at quarterback, and the former No. 2 overall pick played well. Wilson completed 12 of his 14 pass attempts, including a tight-window throw to second-year wide receiver Garrett Wilson.

Expect Wilson and Tim Boyle to get extended looks while Rodgers is out, but that might not be for any more than a couple of days. Rodgers might very well be back on the field for the next open-media OTA session on May 31.

Jets fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Aaron Rodgers is going to be just fine.
