Aaron Rodgers has spoken! The Green Bay Packers quarterback made his first public comments on the NY Jets and the team's ongoing pursuit of him on Saturday following a charity flag football game he participated in.

Rodgers was interviewed by former Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall of the I Am Athlete podcast after the event, and Marshall made sure to hit Rodgers with some questions about the Jets.

When asked how his meeting with Woody Johnson and the Jets went, Rodgers responded coyly, saying, "it's always interesting meeting important figures in the sport." Marshall smirked back at Rodgers, clearly trying to egg him on, but the future Hall of Fame quarterback wasn't trying to give anything away.

Marshall continued to press Rodgers about when a decision might be made, and Rodgers responded with perhaps the most telling comment from the interview.

"I think it won't be long. There's a time limit for all this."

Rodgers may not have directly indicated when he would make his decision, but his acknowledgment that there is a time limit is very significant. The time limit Rodgers is referring to is likely the start of free agency, which unofficially begins on Monday.

This means that Rodgers could very well make his decision today, assuming he abides by the time limit he's referencing.

The NY Jets need Aaron Rodgers to make a decision before Monday

Credit to Marshall, as the former Jets wide receiver did everything he could to get something out of Rodgers, even going as far as to ask him where he'd be living after he was traded to the Jets.

It's difficult to read between the lines of Rodgers' comments. On one hand, he doesn't come off as someone who is about to retire, especially when discussing becoming an "all-time Jet" with Marshall. But in reality, no one knows what Rodgers is thinking.

What we do know, however, is that Rodgers is well aware of the fact that there is a time limit. The Jets and Packers essentially need to know what his decision is before the start of the legal-tampering period of free agency on Monday at noon ET.

The Jets need to know their plan of attack for the quarterback position, and the Packers would like to be aware of the financial implications of Rodgers' decision. That means he has roughly 24 hours to decide on his future.

Aaron Rodgers has broken his silence. The clock is ticking — and he's well aware.
