Aaron Rodgers has yet to make a decision on his NFL future, but it seems as though his list of options has narrowed down to just two outcomes: retirement or the NY Jets.

Green Bay Packers CEO/president Mark Murphy spoke to reporters on Friday and made it abundantly clear where the team stands as far as Rodgers is concerned. It's pretty obvious that he isn't coming back in 2023.

Murphy spoke about Rodgers' time with the Packers in the past tense, saying that they'd love to bring him back one day to retire his jersey and put him in their Ring of Honor. He also discussed how very few players spend their entire careers with one team, even comparing Rodgers to Brett Favre.

Murphy didn't mince words when it came to his longtime quarterback. The Packers have moved on from Rodgers. His decision is between the Jets and retirement, at least if they have any say in the matter.

Jets interested in restructuring contracts

The Jets have created a little cap space over the last few days, releasing Braxton Berrios and restructuring the contract of C.J. Uzomah, but there is more work to be done.

The Jets likely aren't finished with their releases, but the team is also expected to restructure a few contracts. ESPN's Rich Cimini reported on Friday that the Jets have been "reaching out to agents" about these restructures, specifically mentioning three players as likely candidates.

Linebacker C.J. Mosley, defensive end John Franklin-Myers, and cornerback D.J. Reed were all listed as potential candidates for a restructure as the Jets look to clear cap space ahead of the start of free agency.

James Robinson won't be back in 2023

The Jets will reportedly not tender the contract of running back James Robinson this offseason. The former Jacksonville Jaguars running back was set to be a restricted free agent, but the Jets will simply let him walk as opposed to paying the low tender of $2.6 million.

Robinson was acquired by the Jets in a midseason trade that saw a conditional sixth-round pick sent to Jacksonville. In four games, Robinson rushed for just 85 yards on 29 carries and was soon relegated to the role of a healthy scratch in favor of undrafted rookie Zonovan Knight.

With Breece Hall, Michael Carter, and Knight all under contract next season, not to mention the possibility of bringing Ty Johnson back, there was no room for Robinson.

The Jets have decisions to make on four other restricted free agents this offseason, most notably defensive end Bryce Huff. Non-tendering Robinson was an easy and expected decision.
