The NY Jets have shown an affinity toward drafting Senior Bowl prospects in recent years, and that likely won't change this spring.

Jets defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich is on site in Mobile, AL as the head coach of the National Team, giving his team an up-close-and-personal look at some of the top prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Senior Bowl practices officially kicked off on Tuesday, and while the official game isn't until Saturday, the week of practice leading up to the game is often most important for evaluating prospects.

Which players impressed the most on the first day of Senior Bowl practices? Here's a look at five potential Jets draft targets who shined on Tuesday.

5. Jackson Powers-Johnson, OL, Oregon

The Jets will undoubtedly be in the market for offensive line help this offseason, and the 2024 draft is loaded with potential targets. One possible interior option is Oregon's Jackson Powers-Johnson.

Powers-Johnson has experience playing all three interior offensive line spots and took over as Oregon's starting center in 2023. In his lone season as a starter, Powers-Johnson was named a Unanimous All-American en route to winning the Rimington Trophy, awarded to the best center in college football.

The 21-year-old made quite an impression before the day even started, weighing in at a massive 6-foot-3, 334 pounds. He followed that up with one of the best performances by any offensive lineman on Tuesday.

Powers-Johnson has guard/center versatility and could be a target for a Jets team that needs offensive line help. He's projected as a fringe Day 1 prospect but could solidify his case as a first-round lock with a strong week.

4. Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma

Another hulking offensive lineman who impressed on Tuesday is Oklahoma's Tyler Guyton. Guyton stands at a whopping 6-foot-7, 328 pounds, with the size and athleticism to be an All-Pro at the next level.

He showcased his physical gifts on Tuesday and proved that he may be less of a project than many believed. ESPN's Matt Miller called Guyton "the obvious best player on the field during the American [Team] practice."

Guyton only has one year of starting experience at right tackle, but the Texans native was dominant, not allowing a single sack all year. What he lacks in experience, he more than makes up for in upside.

Guyton is seen as a possible first-round pick right now, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him enter top-20 conversations (if he's not already there) soon enough. He's a potential trade-down target for the Jets.

3. Roman Wilson, WR, Michigan

If the Jets don't add an offensive lineman in the first round of the draft, the safe bet is to assume they target a wide receiver. One player who should absolutely be on their radar after Tuesday's practice is Roman Wilson.

Wilson was overshadowed during his time in Michigan's run-heavy offense, failing to top 800 yards in a season, but he's a prime candidate for a player who should be much more productive as a pro.

ESPN's Jordan Reid referred to Wilson as the "top riser" in Tuesday's practice, as the 22-year-old dominated in one-on-one drills before continuing his strong day in team drills.

Wilson was seen as a borderline Day 2/3 prospect going into the week, but he has a case to improve his stock a ton in Mobile. He could be a target for the Jets in the middle rounds of the draft.

2. Ladd McConkey, WR, Georgia

Another wide receiver who made some noise on Tuesday was Ladd McConkey. The undersized and overlooked Georgia receiver showcased his crisp route-running and toughness with an excellent first day of practice.

McConkey has already garnered a reputation as one of the best route-runners in this year's draft class, and his performance on Tuesday only fueled that narrative.

McConkey has drawn comparisons to former Seattle Seahawks standout Doug Baldwin and is seen as a likely Day 2 prospect come April. He probably lacks the size or elite athleticism to ever be a true WR1, but McConkey should be able to stick around in the NFL for a long time.

Much like Roman Wilson, McConkey is a potential target for the Jets on Day 2.

1. Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State

Jets fans who aren't already familiar with the name Taliese Fuaga should probably start watching some Oregon State tape. Fuaga is one of the top prospects competing at the 2024 Senior Bowl, and he is a strong candidate to be the Jets' first-round pick this spring.

The Washington native stands at 6-foot-6, 332 pounds, and was named a first-team All-American at right tackle in 2023. NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah has him ranked as the No. 11 overall prospect in this year's class.

Fuaga's stock is only rising after an outstanding practice on Tuesday. ESPN's Matt Miller even remarked that Fuaga's performance was "as good of a first practice as [he] can recall seeing at the Senior Bowl."

Fuaga is already seen as a likely first-round pick. He has a chance to climb into consensus top-10 consideration, possibly even surpassing Penn State's Olu Fashanu for the second-best tackle in his class.
