MetLife Stadium played host to the NY Jets' annual Green & White Scrimmage this past Saturday. Fans piled into the 82,500-seat stadium on a warm New Jersey evening to witness their team's first "competitive" outing of the summer.

The night may have concluded with a fireworks show, but the Jets made sure to provide plenty of their own fireworks throughout the evening.

The event featured periods of scripted 7-on-7s, scripted 11-on-11s, and unscripted 11-on-11s. The Jets split their offenses and defenses into three "teams" that competed against each other in this intra-squad scrimmage.

The actual scrimmage itself started off with a bang as both the first and second-team offenses drove down the field and scored on their first possessions. Zach Wilson and Joe Flacco came out dealing, but it didn't take long for the defense to take over.

Following some early offensive success, the Jets' defense began to shut the door and they even managed to record a pair of interceptions later in the night. In the end, fans were left with plenty of positive takeaways and a number of encouraging standouts.

How did Zach Wilson perform? Did any of the young players on offense rise to the occasion? How did the defense hold up? Those are the questions we're set to answer today.

Let's take a look at 10 notable standouts from Saturday's Green & White Scrimmage.

10. Quincy Williams, LB, NY Jets

Quincy Williams had an active day on Saturday complete with one of his patented "hit stick" tackles. It may have just been a scrimmage, but Williams was flying all over the field and popped Michael Carter after a short gain during 11-on-11s.

Williams was also noticeably sticky in coverage throughout the night and nearly sacked Zach Wilson on his errant third-down pass to Braxton Berrios. It was a productive day for the elder Williams brother.

9. Tanzel Smart, DT, NY Jets

The Jets' defensive line is loaded, and one under-the-radar defensive lineman fighting for a roster spot is veteran Tanzel Smart. Smart helped his case on Saturday, blowing up an attempted Zonovan Knight draw.

Smart was in on a few other tackles around the line of scrimmage and certainly held his own against the backups. He's still a 53-man roster longshot, but Smart did his part on Saturday.

8. Bryce Hall, CB, NY Jets

With D.J. Reed sidelined, Bryce Hall ran with the first-team offense opposite Sauce Gardner, and he reminded everyone why he deserves to be a starter in this league.

Hall's number was rarely called until the final first-team drive of the night when he jumped in front of an ill-advised Zach Wilson pass and nearly intercepted it. That play capped off a solid night for the third-year cornerback, although he surely wishes he came away with the pick.

7. Zonovan Knight, RB, NY Jets

The Jets' most notable undrafted signing, Zonovan Knight showed some burst on Saturday night and finished as the team's most productive running back, sans Breece Hall (more on him later).

Knight strung together a few impressive runs on the second-team offense's scoring drive including a 10-yard run that set up an eventual Flacco touchdown pass. The rookie running back has made a strong first impression.

6. Will Parks, S, NY Jets

One player in the Jets' secondary who should not be overlooked is veteran safety Will Parks. Parks made a great read on an errant Mike White throw on the final play of scrimmage, capping off his second consecutive practice with an interception.

Parks played well in limited action for the Jets last season and is hardly an unproven commodity with 76 career games played. Don't be surprised if he pushes for one of the final roster spots.

5. Del'Shawn Phillips, LB, NY Jets

The Jets rotated their linebacker corps a bit on Saturday, and one player who received some looks with the starters was Del'Shawn Phillips. He made the most of his opportunities too, intercepting Zach Wilson on the second-year QB's final drive of the scrimmage.

Phillips appeared in all 17 games for the Jets last season and has clearly earned the trust of the coaching staff. More performances like this one will help him solidify a roster spot.

4. Calvin Jackson, WR, NY Jets

The battle for the fifth and sixth wide receiver spots on the Jets' roster has been fierce this summer, and on Saturday, one player made his case to be included in the mix.

Undrafted rookie Calvin Jackson was the team's second-most active receiver hauling in a number of passes including a three-yard touchdown from Joe Flacco. He was one of just two players to score for the Jets throughout the scrimmage.

Jackson was also one of two players the Jets deployed as return specialists alongside the incumbent Braxton Berrios. Perhaps his path to the 53-man roster could come via special teams.

At the very least, Jackson has made a strong push for a practice squad spot. Given that he wasn't even initially signed as an undrafted free agent and only joined the team via a rookie minicamp tryout, that's quite the achievement.

3. Zach Wilson, QB, NY Jets

Zach Wilson wasn't perfect on Saturday. He finished the night with a pair of bad throws, the latter of which was intercepted by the aforementioned Del'Shawn Phillips. However, he did enough to leave fans in attendance feeling encouraged.

Wilson led the Jets to scoring drives on each of his first two possessions, the first of which saw the second-year QB fire a third-down strike over the middle to Tyler Conklin for a 10-yard touchdown.

As a whole, Wilson was decisive and accurate with his reads and throws. There were some missteps, sure. Case in point, his interception to Phillips and a near interception to Bryce Hall on his previous throw.

That said, Wilson nearly completed a highlight-reel deep ball to rookie wide receiver Garrett Wilson in the back of the end zone, only for him to be ruled out of bounds. He had plenty of positive moments before his subpar conclusion, and he could have had more if not for countless dropped passes.

Wilson wasn't the standout on Saturday, but his performance was promising.

2. Breece Hall, RB, NY Jets

There are some within the Jets organization who genuinely believe that Breece Hall will be one of the NFL's best running backs within the next 2-3 years. He showed why many are so high on him this past Saturday.

Hall split carries with fellow running back Michael Carter, although the rookie was the far more efficient of the two. He totaled 31 yards on four carries, including a 16-yard dash in the second half of the scrimmage.

Hall has looked the part this summer and seems primed to take over the Jets' lead back role before long, perhaps as soon as Week 1. He's a home-run threat every time he's on the field and someone who should be very involved in the passing game.

The cries of "BREEEEEECE" echoed through the bleachers whenever Hall touched the ball. Fans showed their appreciation for what was a very impressive performance from the rookie running back.

1. Tyler Conklin, TE, NY Jets

There was no bigger star from Saturday's scrimmage than Tyler Conklin, and it wasn't particularly close if we're being honest. Conklin stole the show, both in the scripted 7-on-7 and unscripted 11-on-11 portions of the practice.

He made his presence felt early on in 7-on-7s when he skied into the air, boxed out a defender with his large frame, and dove to make an acrobatic catch. It was arguably the play of the night to that point.

Conklin continued his busy evening once the scrimmage officially kicked off, hauling in a pair of passes from Wilson on the team's first drive including a 10-yard touchdown in which he beat his man off the snap.

Conklin finished the day with a team-leading seven combined catches. It's clear at this point who the Jets' top tight end is. C.J. Uzomah will get his snaps, but Conklin is the No. 1 guy at his position.

Saturday's scrimmage confirmed that notion.
