The NY Jets are preparing to be without quarterback Zach Wilson for possibly a number of weeks. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that Wilson will "likely miss time" with a PCL injury.

The rookie quarterback is set to undergo an MRI tomorrow that will determine the extent of his injury and how much time he will miss. But as of now, it seems highly unlikely that he will be able to play in the team's next game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Wilson was injured when he was hit by New England Patriots pass rusher Matt Judon in the second quarter. This came just one play after another questionable hit saw Wilson's knee rolled up near the sideline.

Neither hit was called a penalty. After the game, both head coach Robert Saleh and Wilson declined to criticize the lack of a call, but the Jets sideline appeared to be fuming after the second hit.

In Wilson's absence, Mike White stepped into the game and played admirably, although the Jets didn't exactly fare much better. White finished 20-of-32 for 202 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.

Wilson spoke about his injury after the game, describing his knee as "loose" and saying he felt a "pop." He did insist that it wasn't an issue of pain, but that something did "feel off" with his knee.

Obviously, the Jets will be holding their breath as they await the results of his MRI.

Realistically, a PCL injury could be anywhere from a week-to-week ailment to a potentially season-ending injury if it's serious enough and surgery is needed.

The Jets are certainly hoping for the former as opposed to the latter.

White is the most likely candidate to step in as the starter in the meantime while practice squad member Josh Johnson would likely serve as the backup moving forward.

The Jets will anxiously await the results of Zach Wilson's MRI, as will the team's fan base.
