The NY Jets placed seven players on injury lists on Friday ahead of the start of training camp this coming Tuesday. Among those who will be sidelined for the start of training camp are Quinnen Williams and Marcus Maye.

The Jets announced that they had placed Williams, Kyle Phillips, Jonathan Marshall, and Ashtyn Davis on the Active/PUP list while Maye, Vinny Curry, and Folorunso Fatukasi were added to the non-football injury list.

All seven players are eligible to be activated at any point before the start of the regular season and they still count toward the 90-man roster limit.

If any of them are not activated before the season starts, they will be required to miss at least the first six weeks of the regular season.

Should NY Jets fans be concerned about any of these injuries?

Williams had offseason foot surgery and he was hoping to be back in time for training camp. He had the surgery in early May and was given an 8-10 week timetable for his return.

Even if he's not back for the start of training camp, it is still expected that Williams will be ready for the regular season and likely even earlier.

Phillips spent a little more than half of last season on the injured reserve after suffering an ankle injury in Week 7. It's unclear if this injury is related to the one he suffered last year.

Marshall was held out for most of OTAs and minicamp with an undisclosed injury and it's likely that is what is keeping him on the sideline now. As for Davis, the 2020 third-round pick is still rehabbing from foot surgery that cut his rookie season short.

It is unknown what ailments Maye, Curry, and Fatukasi are dealing with. The non-football injury designation is for players who are unable to play/practice for reasons unrelated to an injury sustained during football activities.

This could be illness-related or really anything that wasn't an injury suffered during a team workout or practice.

It's worth noting that one notable player, Mekhi Becton, was not placed on any injury list indicating that he's expected to be ready for the start of training camp.

That's good news given that he missed all of OTAs and minicamp while dealing with plantar fasciitis in his foot.

The Jets will hope to see all of these players return in the near future. But it looks like they will all be held out, at least for the start of training camp.
