The NY Jets community is still buzzing following the official announcement that star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams has agreed to a four-year, $96 million extension with the organization that once drafted him third overall.

Williams is not only arguably the best player on the team, but he's also one of the more beloved individuals in the Jets' locker room. Perhaps that's why so many of his teammates expressed their support for the All-Pro defensive tackle.

Following the news of Williams' extension, a number of Jets players took to Twitter to praise and celebrate their revered teammate.

The likes of Sauce Gardner, Mekhi Becton, John Franklin-Myers, Michael Carter II, Jermaine Johnson, D.J. Reed, Justin Hardee, and others all shared their support for Williams.

NY Jets players couldn't be happier for Quinnen Williams

Williams is one of the few homegrown success stories for the Jets in recent years. The third overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Williams has developed into one of the NFL's premier defensive players over his five years in the NFL.

This is actually the first time the Jets have signed a first-round draft pick of theirs to a second contract since Muhammad Wilkerson, who was drafted all the way back in 2011.

Since Wilkerson, only two Jets draft picks have received multi-year extensions with the team: Quincy Enunwa and Brian Winters. That's how rare it's been for the Jets to retain their own homegrown talent.

Williams is the exception. He's a true franchise cornerstone who produces at an elite level on the field and is beloved off the field. It's easy to see why so many of his teammates came forward to congratulate him.

D.J. Reed said in his tweet that it "couldn't happen to a better person." That's a strong sign of how the players in the locker room feel about Williams. He's as respected as any player on the team.

Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner took his celebration to another level, insisting that he planned to throw a "Yacht Party" with a bunch of fans on the Grand Theft Auto RP (role-play) server that he runs. Sure enough, that's exactly what he did.

Jets fans are ecstatic. Jets players are proud. Quinnen Williams is going to remain a member of the New York Jets for the foreseeable future. Thursday was a great day for the Jets organization.
