The NY Jets have been courting Odell Beckham Jr. for months. From their numerous unofficial meetings to multiple players recruiting Beckham on social media, the team hasn't exactly made their interest a secret.

On Monday, the Jets will finally host Beckham in an official capacity. Beckham will make his way to Florham Park to take a physical and get acquainted with the Jets' coaching staff.

The two sides will also discuss what Beckham's role could look like in a deep receiving corps and how he could fit in with Aaron Rodgers at the helm. The Jets are trying to sell Beckham, but they also want to make sure he's a good fit.

Money remains an obstacle, but the Jets believe they are on the verge of signing Beckham if his medicals check out on Monday. It might not be long until Beckham makes his long-awaited return to New York.

Other NY Jets news

Jets listed as a possible trade destination for Austin Ekeler

Bleacher Report's Maurice Moton recently broke down a list of contenders that could trade for Los Angeles Chargers star running back Austin Ekeler. The Jets were among the teams listed.

Ekeler requested a trade from the Chargers last month and has gone on record as saying that playing with the Chargers in 2023 would be a "worst-case scenario." He seems likely to be traded this offseason, but would the Jets seriously consider making the move?

The Jets could be in the market for extra running back depth, with Breece Hall still recovering from a torn ACL. That said, it's hard to imagine they target anyone as high-profile — and expensive — as Ekeler.

The Jets have enough running back depth to get by, and reports suggest that Hall will be ready for Week 1. Don't expect the Jets to be in the market for Ekeler or any other notable running back.

Jets and Giants to have joint practices again

The Jets and Giants held joint practices with one another for the first time in 17 years last summer. The two teams stopped practicing together following a series of fights that occurred one day in the summer of 2005.

Last year's joint practices didn't feature any major scraps or melees. Both teams came away feeling good about the practices, and the plan appears to be to run it back in 2023.

The Athletic's Dan Duggan is reporting that the Jets and Giants plan to hold one joint practice together before their annual preseason game this summer.

Here's to hoping that both teams stay healthy and that the fighting is kept to a minimum.
