The NY Jets may have shifted their focus to Aaron Rodgers and Derek Carr, but it's always important to monitor the entire quarterback market. That's especially true when it pertains to a player of Lamar Jackson's caliber.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported this past weekend that the Baltimore Ravens and Jackson "could possibly be $100 million apart." He added that "those trade calls are coming," although it does seem unlikely that Jackson would get moved any time soon.

Fowler also insisted that teams are still working under the assumption that Jackson will be franchise tagged. If Jackson is traded this offseason, it isn't going to be within the next few weeks or perhaps even months.

That likely takes the Jets out of the running for Jackson as they will need to settle their quarterback plan sooner rather than later. Still, it's worth keeping an eye on how this situation develops.

Other NY Jets news

Jets well-represented at the Pro Bowl

The Jets didn't send a single player to last year's Pro Bowl, but they were well-represented at this year's edition of the event with four players making the trip to Las Vegas.

Special teamer and reserve cornerback Justin Hardee even managed to record a sack on Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff in the first quarter of the AFC vs. NFC flag football game.

Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner soaked in their first Pro Bowl experience while veteran linebacker C.J. Mosley enjoyed his fifth appearance at the event.

The NFL even included Gardner on the official poster for Sunday's Pro Bowl Games, along with five other AFC standouts. He's quickly becoming a household name around the league.

Former Jets OL coach interviewed

The Los Angeles Rams wasted little time hiring former Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur to be their new OC following his departure from Gang Green. Evidently, they're looking to return to that Jets well as they continue to fill out their coaching staff.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday that former Jets offensive line coach John Benton is expected to interview for the same role in Los Angeles. His familiarity with LaFleur certainly helps his case.

Benton was one of three offensive assistants let go by the Jets this offseason along with LaFleur and wide receivers coach Miles Austin. The Jets replaced Benton with former Tennessee Titans offensive line coach Keith Carter.

It seems as though Benton might be joining his old friend with the Rams before long.
