The NY Jets concluded their official visit with free-agent quarterback Derek Carr last weekend, the second team that Carr has visited with this offseason after he met with the New Orleans Saints prior to his release.

The Jets and the Saints are not the only teams interested, however. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported on Friday that three other teams have contacted Carr in recent days to express interest in signing him.

It's unclear which teams Fowler is referring to, but we can assume teams like the Carolina Panthers, Washington Commanders, Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, etc. could be interested.

Carr continues to bide his time and could take another visit with a third team in the coming days. For now, the Jets remain one of the favorites to sign him, pending Aaron Rodgers' impending decision.

Jets select Broderick Jones in Daniel Jeremiah's mock draft

NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah released his second full mock draft of the year this past week, and he had the Jets taking Georgia offensive tackle Broderick Jones with the 13th overall pick.

This pick remains the same as Jeremiah's first mock draft which was released a month ago. Jones is widely seen as one of the top offensive tackle prospects in this year's draft class, and he certainly fills a need for the Jets.

The Georgia standout is a bit raw and inexperienced with only 19 career starts, but Jones has the physical traits to become a plus-starter in the NFL. The Jets have few sure things at the offensive tackle position and could use another young building block on their offensive line.

Jones makes plenty of sense as a target for the Jets, but Jeremiah actually proposed a different idea when speaking to the media on Friday. More on that in a moment.

Jets could surprisignly draft a TE

Jeremiah spoke to reporters on Friday to discuss his latest mock draft, and during the media call, the highly-regarded draft guru suggested that the Jets could target an expected position early in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Jeremiah believes that there's a chance the Jets draft a tight end early this year, despite adding the likes of Tyler Conklin, C.J. Uzomah, and Jeremy Ruckert last offseason.

"I know they signed all those TEs last year, but I still don't think they have a real dynamic, difference-making tight end."

Conklin and Uzomah are under contract in 2023 and will very likely return alongside Ruckert, who the Jets hope will take on a larger role this season. That doesn't leave much room for another tight end.

Still, if someone like Notre Dame's Michael Mayer or Utah's Dalton Kincaid is available, perhaps the Jets could consider their options. I wouldn't count on it, though.
