For months, an Aaron Rodgers trade has seemed inevitable for the NY Jets. The Jets and Green Bay Packers are both well aware that the only feasible outcome to this situation is Rodgers making his way to Florham Park.

Still, as we approach the end of April, many Jets fans have begun to feel restless about the entire ordeal. That feeling of restlessness could be coming to an end rather shortly.

WFAN's Boomer Esiason promised on Friday that a Rodgers trade will happen and that "it will happen relatively soon." The expectation is that a trade should happen before Day 2 of the 2023 NFL Draft next week.

The Rodgers saga has dragged on for months, and while nothing is certain, most believe that it should come to an end within a few days. That's the hope, at least.

Other NY Jets news

Peter Skoronski is an 'ideal fit' for the Jets

Bleacher Report's Alex Ballentine recently identified an "ideal fit" for every team in the 2023 NFL Draft, and Northwestern's Peter Skoronski earned the nod for the Jets.

Ballentine cited the Jets' obvious need for offensive line help and Skoronski's positional versatility as primary reasons for his fit with the team. It's hard to argue with that notion.

Skoronski was a three-year starter at left tackle for Northwestern, earning Unanimous All-American honors in his final season. Some have concerns about Skoronski's overall lack of length and believe that a move inside to guard would be best for him in the NFL.

Either way, the Jets seem likely to address their offensive line early in the draft, and Skoronski makes sense as a potential target.

Jets select TE Dalton Kincaid in mock draft

One prospect who makes a little less sense for the Jets at pick No. 13 is Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid. Yet, that's exactly who was projected to the Jets in a recent mock draft from Fox Sports.

Kincaid is widely considered to be one of the top tight end prospects in this year's class and a possible first-round selection, although the 13th pick seems pretty high for him.

On top of that, it seems very unlikely that the Jets choose to use a top-15 pick on a tight end, especially after adding Tyler Conklin, C.J. Uzomah, and Jeremy Ruckert last offseason.

Kincaid would be a fun addition, but I wouldn't put much stock into him as a realistic option.
