The 2023 offseason promises to be another exciting period of quarterback movement in the NFL, and no high-profile QB (minus Derek Carr) seems more likely to be on the move this offseason than Aaron Rodgers. The NY Jets continue to be connected to Rodgers rumors.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Sunday that the Green Bay Packers would "prefer to move on from Rodgers," and that Rodgers is "well aware of the Packers' feelings on the situation."

Rodgers has seemed to hint at his potential departure in recent interviews, and the organization clearly believes that a split is coming. If that happens, no team makes more sense as a trade partner than the Jets.

The Jets remain the betting favorites to land Rodgers in a trade this offseason, and the possibility of a trade continues to grow more likely by the day. It feels like this is actually going to happen.

Other NY Jets news

Derek Carr is "the best [the Jets] can do"

Take this with a grain of salt because it was reported by Jason La Canfora of The Washington Post, but La Canfora reported on Friday that one NFL general manager told him that Derek Carr is "the best [Jets owner Woody Johnson] can do" at quarterback.

Of course, this was 1) reported by La Canfora, who has a sketchy track record, at best, and 2) seemingly just the opinion of an arbitrary NFL GM. Don't take this as fact.

La Canfora's report comes at an odd time when the Jets remain the odds-on favorites to land Aaron Rodgers in a trade. They may ultimately not be competitive in the market for Lamar Jackson, but that doesn't mean they'll have to settle for Carr.

And if they do acquire Carr, it probably wouldn't be because it's "the best they could do." That feels like a silly narrative pushed by a GM who isn't really keen on the situation. But hey, it makes for a great headline, so it was reported.

Breece Hall promises playoffs

Pro Football Focus proposed a simple question on Twitter this past Saturday, asking "which non-playoff team will make the playoffs in 2023?" Jets running back Breece Hall had a fairly straightforward answer.

Hall responded with a simple "We Are," seemingly promising a playoff berth for the Jets next season. Hall isn't the first Jets player to suggest this will be the case either as fellow rookie Sauce Gardner vowed to reach the playoffs in 2023.

Say one thing about the Jets' rookies, they're confident in themselves and their team. For the sake of Joe Douglas, Robert Saleh, and this entire Jets regime, they better hope that Hall and Gardner are correct in their predictions.

If not, they may not be the ones in charge whenever the Jets finally break their historic playoff drought.
