The NY Jets and Green Bay Packers have waited months for a resolution to the ongoing Aaron Rodgers situation, and while, for all intents and purposes, a deal has been reached, we still haven't received any official confirmation.

NFL insider Trey Wingo spoke about the Rodgers situation on Tuesday, and he revealed that there's a chance this saga drags into next week. Wingo reiterated that the "deal is done" and it "will happen," but a holdup remains.

Wingo also clarified that said "holdup" is not Rodgers himself. It could be contractual. It could be a timing thing. Whatever the case, the trade might not be officially announced until next week.

Rodgers is going to make an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show later today, which should provide some clarity on his future. A trade seems almost guaranteed at this point, but until it becomes official, Jets fans will remain at least a little anxious.

Other NY Jets news

Allen Lazard signing is 'not done yet'

It was reported on Tuesday that the Jets signed wide receiver Allen Lazard to a four-year, $44 million contract with $22 million in guarantees. It marked the first external signing of the Jets' offseason. However, it might not actually be official yet.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported soon after the initial signing was revealed that the deal was "not done yet." He insisted that it should get done, but much like the Rodgers' situation, there was no actual confirmation at this time.

This is essentially a microcosm of the Jets' offseason to this point. An Aaron Rodgers trade should happen. The Lazard deal should be made official soon. But nothing is confirmed — and it's certainly frustrating.

Jets interested in free-agent center

The Jets reportedly pushed hard to sign San Francisco 49ers center Jake Brendel on Tuesday, even offering him more money than the 49ers, but he ultimately opted to re-sign in San Francisco.

With Connor McGovern on the open market, the Jets appear to be pivoting to a different target, per ESPN's Rich Cimini: former Denver Broncos center/guard Graham Glasgow.

Glasgow has familiarity with offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett and has the versatility to play both guard and center, although it's hard not to see him as a downgrade from McGovern.

Glasgow ranked third-worst in both sacks allowed and penalties in 2022 and finished as Pro Football Focus' 27th-ranked center out of just 36 qualifiers. McGovern ranked inside the top 10.
