The NY Jets are on the hunt for a quarterback this offseason. Could they find a solution in future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers? For weeks, it's seemed unlikely that a Rodgers trade would actually happen, but ESPN's Adam Schefter provided an important update on Saturday.

Schefter reported that there was a "real possibility" that Rodgers would be traded this offseason, calling it a "very real scenario." The obstacle, of course, will be the $110 million remaining on his salary and finding a team that can afford it.

The Jets would have to do some serious cap finagling to make a Rodgers trade work, but it might just be worth it. General manager Joe Douglas knows that his job is on the line. Trading for Rodgers would be the swing-for-the-fences move that he's steered clear of to this point.

If Aaron Rodgers does, in fact, end up on the trade market, the Jets should absolutely be interested. It seems more and more likely by the day that he actually is moved this offseason, despite his contract.

Other NY Jets news

Bryce Huff believes he can make the Pro Bowl

Bryce Huff only played 175 defensive snaps in 2022, but the former undrafted free agent made sure to make the most of the opportunities he was given. In fact, on a snap-per-snap basis, Huff was the most efficient pass rusher in the NFL this season.

Huff's 21 percent pressure rate was higher than all other edge rushers in football, including the likes of Myles Garrett and Nick Bosa. His 28 percent win rate was also the highest in the league.

Huff's efficiency has led many to claim he deserves a larger role in the Jets' defense, including one Twitter user who proclaimed that "Bryce Huff would be a Pro Bowler if he played 74% of the snaps."

Huff responded to the tweet with a simple "on-target" emoji, suggesting that he agrees with that notion. The Jets will have a decision to make regarding Huff's future this offseason with the former Memphis standout set to be a restricted free agent.

If they're smart, they'll bring him back and increase his role significantly in 2023.

Elijah Moore's dad wants a quarterback

It's no secret that the Jets need a quarterback this offseason. Everyone from the fans to the coaches to the players to even the players' parents seems to know this.

Elijah Moore's dad took to Twitter on Saturday to simply state that he will soon play with a great quarterback, at least that was the hope and implication. Moore's dad tweeted, "Don't worry my son we gonna find you a Jalen Hurts."

Moore's trade request last season was due in part to Zach Wilson's repeated struggles. Moore wasn't happy about the quarterback situation, and his dad's tweet pretty much furthers that notion.

For everyone involved, the Jets will certainly hope to find their own Jalen Hurts this offseason. It's been a long, long time coming.
