The NY Jets injury report and list of inactives have been released for the team's Week 7 matchup with the New England Patriots, and they'll be without three key contributors.

The Jets were already down starting tight end Tyler Kroft who was declared out for the second consecutive game with a back injury.

They will also be without starting linebacker C.J. Mosley who was listed as doubtful with a hamstring injury. Running back Tevin Coleman, who was questionable with a hamstring injury as well, is also inactive.

Among the other inactives are wide receiver Jeff Smith, defensive tackle Jonathan Marshall, and safety Adrian Colbert.

The NY Jets will be without C.J. Mosley and others in Week 7

The most notable loss here is Mosley who was hoping to play despite his injury. The Jets will be forced to start rookie Jamien Sherwood alongside Quincy Williams leaving the linebacker position desperately thin.

Mosley's on-field leadership will be missed nearly as much as his actual play on the gridiron.

Coleman's absence could open up an opportunity for La'Mical Perine who has yet to play in a game in 2021. It's likely he makes his season debut today.

The other notable inactive is Jeff Smith who is a healthy scratch. That means that Denzel Mims will be active, not as a result of an injury to another player, for the first time this season.

Expect Mims to be featured a decent amount in the offense considering the Jets believed that his offensive contributions would be greater than Smith's special-teams contributions.

That seems to suggest that they plan to use Mims, at least more than they have in recent weeks.

With Kroft out, the Jets will turn to Ryan Griffin as their lead tight end for the second week in a row. Fullback Trevon Wesco played 43 percent of offensive snaps in Week 5 with more than half of them coming at tight end with Kroft out.

The Jets and Patriots will square off starting at 1:00 p.m. ET.
