The NY Jets put together a pathetic offensive performance in Week 3 as they limped to a 26-0 loss to the Denver Broncos. After the game, starting right guard Greg Van Roten had some things to say about Zach Wilson and the offense.

Van Roten was asked about Wilson and the offense, and the veteran guard insisted that Wilson has to learn to get the ball out quicker.

Wilson, who was sacked five times during Sunday's game, was under constant pressure. And it's not as if the offensive line did him any favors.

That goes for Van Roten too who has been arguably the Jets' biggest weakness on the offensive line this season. It was another difficult day for Van Roten in Week 3.

While Van Roten did later clarify that he doesn't believe the losses fall on Wilson, his initial comment is what will be remembered. It was a puzzling remark, to say the least.

Greg Van Roten seemingly called out NY Jets quarterback Zach Wilson

Wilson has done everything to deflect blame from his teammates and onto himself. In his press conference, he was asked a legitimate question about the large number of drops his receivers had today.

Wilson took that opportunity to discuss how he can have better placement on his passes. He didn't criticize his teammates, he spoke about how he can uplift them after drops.

That's what makes Van Roten's comment all the more puzzling.

Through the first two weeks of the season, Van Roten was the worst-graded offensive lineman on the Jets, per Pro Football Focus, and one of their worst-graded overall players.

The 31-year-old had a terrible 52.1 grade over the first two weeks which ranked 57th out of 69 qualified guards. And it's hard to imagine his Week 3 performance did anything to improve that grade.

Greg Van Roten's comments are puzzling. And they surely won't go over well with Zach Wilson and the Jets organization.
