The 2022 season was a rollercoaster for Elijah Moore and the NY Jets. The former second-round pick was a trendy breakout candidate going into the year, but a slow start to the season led to an abrupt trade request in October.

The Jets never seriously considered honoring said trade request, and following a brief benching, Moore would resurface as a key part of the team's offense by the end of the season.

Poor quarterback play plagued Moore's production in 2022, but the hope is that with better quarterback play next season, the Ole Miss product could take a step closer to reaching his ceiling. That is, of course, if he's on the team.

Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot reported on Sunday that the Cleveland Browns are eyeing Moore as a potential trade target this offseason. Moore is one of six wide receivers "on their radar" entering free agency.

Would the NY Jets consider trading Elijah Moore?

The Jets' relationship with Moore seems to have smoothed over at this point. Moore was primarily upset with his lack of targets, mostly spurred on by very inconsistent quarterback performances from Zach Wilson.

Wilson and Moore never really established any chemistry as the former Ole Miss standout found a lot more success with Joe Flacco and Mike White throwing him passes. Provided the Jets have a good quarterback and Moore is getting targets, he shouldn't have any issues with the team.

That's why it feels unlikely that the Jets consider trading him. Moore is still just 22 years old (turns 23 this month) and is the team's WR2 going into the offseason.

Braxton Berrios has already been released. Corey Davis is expected to join him. Denzel Mims is more of an enigma than a reliable contributor. The Jets need Moore in a suddenly thin wide receiver room.

It's likely the Jets look to add to the wide receiver position this offseason, especially if they move on from Davis, but I can't imagine they'd be in any hurry to move Moore. Unless the Browns come calling with a ridiculous offer, a trade seems unlikely.

The Jets and Elijah Moore went through a rough patch last offseason, but they appear to have settled their differences. Despite rumors, I wouldn't expect Moore to be traded.
