The NY Jets fell to the Buffalo Bills by a final score of 45-17 in Week 10. It was another blowout loss for a Jets team that has become accustomed to them in recent weeks.

The defense was atrocious, the offense had costly turnovers, and the Mike White magic officially ran out. Nothing went right for the Jets on Sunday, and the final score is evidence of that.

Where does the team go from here? Who knows. For now, let's take a look at a few quick takeaways from this embarrassment of a game.

1. The Mike White train has been derailed

It was a fun ride. The Jets vowed to ride the Mike White train until it derailed, and on Sunday, that train skidded right off the tracks.

White finished 24-of-44 for 251 yards and four interceptions in what was a disastrous day for the young signal-caller. There were "We Want Flacco" chants raining down from the MetLife Stadium bleachers by the third quarter.

It's safe to say that White's time as a starter has come to an end assuming Zach Wilson is healthy enough to start next week.

White proved that he's a more-than-capable backup, but that's it for now. And that's perfectly fine.

It's Zach Wilson's time again.

2. The NY Jets defense is bad. Really bad.

This might be the worst defense the Jets have fielded in decades. After allowing an average of 43 points per game over their last three contests, the Jets turned around and gave up 45 points to a Bills team that was held to just six points by the Jacksonville Jaguars a week ago.

Their issues are twofold. On one hand, the Jets just don't have the talent to be able to compete. They have absolutely nothing at safety and their linebackers have looked lost over the last few weeks.

On the other hand, the coaching staff's lack of adjustments has been particularly concerning. Teams have adapted to the Jets' defense that forced seven sacks on the Tennessee Titans in Week 4, but the Jets haven't been able to counter.

Short passes and play-action continue to kill the Jets, and while the coaches' hands are partially tied by a lack of talent, there's more they could be doing to adjust on a week-to-week basis.

The Jets' defensive woes fall on both the personnel and the coaching staff.

3. The NY Jets have a budding star in Michael Carter

Perhaps one of the only players to show up for the Jets on Sunday was rookie running back Michael Carter. Carter continued his stretch of recent standout performances with another excellent showing in Week 10.

The fourth-round rookie finished with 16 carries for 39 yards and a touchdown while adding another four catches for 43 yards in the air. But his performance was much more impressive than what the box score shows.

With Mike White getting the start, Carter was once again a frequent target on check-downs and he made the most of his yards when given carries on the ground.

Michael Carter might just be the Jets' best offensive playmaker. They need to continue feeding him the rock once Wilson returns to the starting lineup.

4. NY Jets have major holes at both linebacker and safety

Let's expand a little on the Jets' poor defensive performance. While the entire unit deserves blame, the team's holes at both linebacker and safety remain painfully evident.

It's hard to fault the Jets much for their lack of talent at the safety position. They've lost both of their starting safeties to injury leaving the likes of Ashtyn Davis, Jarrod Wilson, and Sharrod Neasman to pick up the slack.

The results haven't been pretty.

While Wilson did pick up an important second-quarter sack and Sharrod Neasman recorded just the second Jets interception of the season, it's clear that the Jets have nothing at the position.

Meanwhile, Jarrad Davis has been a massive liability since returning from injury, C.J. Mosley has struggled mightily in recent weeks, and Del'Shawn Phillips probably shouldn't be on an NFL roster.

There aren't easy fixes for these positions either The Jets will have to go back to the drawing board in the offseason as they look to hopefully fix their defense.

But as for now, those positions will likely remain gaping holes.

5. The NY Jets couldn't stop Stefon Diggs

Stefon Diggs is one of the best wide receivers in football, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that he had a big day on Sunday. But he didn't just have a big day, he had his best day of the year.

Diggs finished with eight catches for 162 yards and a touchdown as he completely torched the Jets' secondary. It wasn't just one player either.

Bryce Hall, Brandin Echols, and Javelin Guidry each took turns getting toasted by Diggs with the latter two proving to be the most notable culprits.

The Jets had no answer for Diggs and Josh Allen who had their way with a porous Jets defense. It was ugly from start to finish.

6. Corey Davis' struggles continued

A look at the final stat line will paint a very different picture as to how Corey Davis' day went on Sunday. Davis finished with five catches for 93 yards which ranks up there with his best performances of the season.

However, context is important here.

Davis caught just one pass in the first half and he proceeded to fumble it at the absolute worst time. The former Titans wide receiver hauled in a 28-yard pass from White over the middle late in the first half only to fumble the ball allowing Buffalo to recover.

Trailing 17-3, the Jets were driving and looking to cut the Bills' lead to one score going into the half. Instead, Davis' fumble was the beginning of the end for New York.

His garbage-time stats won't do much to take away from the fact that Davis has five drops and two fumbles in seven games this season. He had three drops and one fumble in 14 games a year ago.

Davis' inconsistencies continue to hinder the Jets' offense.
