The Super Bowl is over and the offseason is officially underway which means that it's the NY Jets' time to shine. With loads of draft capital and plenty of cap space, the Jets have the resources to do plenty of damage this offseason.

General manager Joe Douglas knows that the clock is ticking on putting together a competent roster that could compete in 2022. The foundation has been laid, but the next step is actually producing on-field results.

That process will start in free agency where the Jets will look to make use of their cap space by signing free agents that could help the team compete now and in the future.

But with nine picks, including a league-high four inside the top-40, the Jets are set up to do most of their work in the 2022 NFL Draft.

We've run through our fair share of scenarios in our time doing these weekly mocks. We've seen trades, surprise picks, expected picks, and everything in between.

But this is our first mock in the post-Super Bowl time period. And for the sake of time, this one will be more of a quick-hitter mock draft. After all, many of these prospects we've spoken about at length in the past.

With the help of The Draft Network's Mock Machine, here are the results from our latest seven-round 2022 NFL Mock Draft.

NY Jets, Kayvon Thibodeaux

Round 1, 4th Overall, NY Jets: Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon

The Jets get a little lucky and have Oregon pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux fall to them at pick No. 4. Thibodeaux has the length, athleticism, and upside of a future All-Pro at his position.

Robert Saleh and company will be hoping that Thibodeaux can have a Nick Bosa-like effect on their defense. The Jets add one of the most talented players in this draft class in the form of another young defensive building block.

Round 1, 10th Overall, NY Jets: Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State

Charles Cross is perhaps the best pure pass protector in this class. At 6-foot-5, 305 pounds, Cross is a phenomenal athlete who's technically sound in pass protection with the lateral mobility to get up into the second level.

While I don't think he'll ever be a truly dominant run blocker, Cross' floor is high given his pass-protecting skills. The Jets add a player who can feasibly start at left tackle (or even right tackle) depending on what happens with Mekhi Becton and George Fant.

Round 2, 35th Overall, NY Jets: Jaquan Brisker, S, Penn State

The Jets are going to need to seriously overhaul their safety position this offseason, and they do so here adding a player who would probably be the best safety in most normal, non-Kyle Hamilton draft classes.

Penn State's Jaquan Brisker is a versatile, rangy, high-IQ safety who can fill the Marcus Maye role in the Jets' defense. He's a day-one starter and quite the steal here at the top of the second round.

Round 2, 38th Overall, NY Jets: David Bell, WR, Purdue

Purdue's David Bell is one of the most technically-sound route-runners in this draft. While not a dominant athlete, Bell offers a high-floor skill set complete with good length, excellent ball skills, and top-tier route running.

The Jets will likely look to add another starting wide receiver this offseason and a trio of Bell, Elijah Moore, and Corey Davis looks very promising on paper.

Round 3, 69th Overall, NY Jets: Jeremy Ruckert, TE, Ohio State

Expect the Jets to address the tight end position in a big way this offseason, and it wouldn't be surprising to see them turn to the Senior Bowl in search of their next young tight end.

Ohio State's Jeremy Ruckert is a local product from Long Island who was underutilized in Ohio State's offense. He has an absurd catch radius, sticky hands, and is a willing blocker making him a very enticing pick at this spot.

Round 4, 109th Overall, NY Jets: Cam Taylor-Britt, CB, Nebraska

The Jets don't seem to see the cornerback position as the need that many fans do, but they'll still likely address it. Nebraska's Cam Taylor-Britt offers a very intriguing blend of length and athleticism that makes him one of the more undervalued cornerbacks in this class.

Taylor-Britt could immediately compete for starting reps as a rookie adding further depth and youth to a promising Jets cornerback unit.

Round 4, 115th Overall, NY Jets: Troy Andersen, LB, Montana State

Troy Andersen is one of the most fun players in this draft class. Andersen played quarterback, running back, and linebacker in college, but is likely more of a defensive prospect at the next level.

At 6-foot-4, 233 pounds, Andersen has impressive size and sideline-to-sideline speed that gives him three-down potential. His athletic traits should allow him to become a regular on special teams as well.

Round 5, 145th Overall, NY Jets: Dameon Pierce, RB, Florida

Even after adding Michael Carter in last year's draft, the Jets might again look on Day 3 of the 2022 NFL Draft for a suitable complement. Florida's Dameon Pierce has the skill set the Jets should be looking for.

Pierce is a powerful, no-nonsense runner who rarely goes down on first contact. The Jets need a running back who can run effectively between the tackles and Pierce could be that player.

Round 5, 162nd Overall, NY Jets: Lecitus Smith, OG, Virginia Tech

A former tight end, Lecitus Smith is an excellent athlete who does his best work in space. Primarily a left guard in college, the Jets could see Smith as a developmental guard prospect who can eventually compete for reps at right guard.

His lack of length could serve as a detriment, but his athleticism provides a solid floor to build upon in the future.
